Crawl Space Repair Before & After Photos

A customer in Barrie, Ontario, was looking for a minimal fix for their water seepage issue coming from three block walls causing damage to the basement. They wanted a quick solution so that they could finalize their upcoming renovation project.

Our customer was delighted with the work Jose and his team had done. They also insisted on calling us back to complete the basement when they had their renovation plan set.

Our kitchen is the heart of the home, but what is the crawl space? The backbone of your home. An often forgotten but essential place of your home's overall functionality. For this house in Innisfil, Ontario, the customers called us as they were concerned with the pungent odour coming from the crawl space and making its way to their main floor. System Design Specialist Dean Merendino created a well-suited, long-lasting solution for the crawl space. An organized installation team installed our SmartPipe® drainage system and a SmartSump®. For insulation and preserving energy, we set up our ThermalDry® wall system. To encapsulate the area, our CleanSpace® vapour barrier was installed to keep the site clean and dry. Lastly, we installed our IceGuard® discharge line protection system.

The customers were so pleased with the turnout of the crawl space and couldn't believe it was the same one they were having problems with. They immediately noticed a difference in the air quality as there was no longer a nasty odour bothering them.

A home in Oro Medonte had a very unhealthy, musty smell all over the house caused by their crawlspace condition. This space was wet, musty,  and starting to mould. Due to obvious health reasons, the homeowner could not use the home in the current condition. Until this problem met a solution, the homeowner could not move back into his house.

The customer called Clarke Basement Systems to come up with a solution so they could solve the problem quick. Rob Malcomson took a good look and explained to the customer the whole procedure that would be done. Jose Martinez and the team came in and installed CleanSpace® encapsulation to separate earth moisture. Drainage matting was put in to allow water to move under encapsulation to sump pump location. Re-grading of the dirt floor was done to let water to flow to the sump pump. We removed the debris to clean up the space prior to encapsulation. SmartJack® Floor Solution was installed to secure the crawlspace and replace the old beam that was settling. The customer was able to move back into home and the space is now managed and healthy, no smells and supported with warranty.

Crawl spaces are known to be dark, muggy, and often places we homeowners wouldn’t choose to go to unless completely necessary. However, many homeowners don’t understand how essential a crawl space is to the rest of the home. Your crawl space is a buffer between your home and the wet earth below. Unfortunately, as your crawl space works to protect your home, it can also collect too much humidity from water collection.
