Large home in Caledon, Ontario, had no waterproofing done to it, and the basement had experienced some leaking throughout the whole space. The homeowners needed waterproofing done so that they could complete the basement and not have to worry about the elements coming into the home and disrupting the integrity of the house. A call was made to Clarke Basement Systems to have their basement waterproofed permanently so they could proceed with the renovations. We sent our System Design Specialist, Ben Wallis, to provide a quote and describe what work will be done. He started with the walls where we will apply a wall membrane called CleanSpace to the home where the water from the outside that will come in will trickle down the wall and to the channel we will install. The track that we will install is a perimeter drainage system that pushes all the water from the walls to the sump pump located in the furnace room. We will also replace the sump pump to better the water circulation from the existing water source. Our installation specialist Dave Jackson installed the components to completely waterproof the basement within two days. Usually, the first day is consisted of the jackhammering part, placing the wall membrane, and putting in the piping. The second day is for the final touches before putting the concrete in. Once the basement's concrete is in, the concrete would have to settle for two days and bam! The basement is waterproofed!

A stunning home in Caledon, Ontario, had a basement that was not waterproofed. The homeowners had noticed that the basement was getting a surplus of water leaking from the walls and wanted to deter the water into the home's Sump Pump. After a call to Clarke Basement Systems, we were able to send out our System Design Specialist over to take a look at the work at hand. Ben Wallis, our specialist, arrived at the home to provide the homeowners with a detailed quote and honest opinion on what products will be used and how they will affect the waterproofing of the basement. Ben suggested our CleanSpace wall membrane be placed around the home's entire basement for any water coming into the house would trickle down the wall and to the floor. Moving toward the floor, we would have our Installation specialist, Dave Jackson, jackhammer a trench around the perimeter of the basement to house our drainage system. The drainage system will hold all the water from their membrane and make its way through the system and into the sump. Treat this like a little water road around the edges and leads into the bigger deposit. Following the drainage system to the end, a new Triple Safe® Sump Pump will be installed to circulate the water properly. The job consisted of one day being the jackhammering and placement of all the materials and the second was the final touches and pouring of the concrete on the drainage system to conceal it.
A home in Bolton, Ontario had a problem with the rear basement wall. The wall had a large horizontal crack and it was beginning to bow inwards also causing water to leak in. The client was concerned about the structural integrity of the wall and did not want the problem to get worse. The continued bowing of the wall could lead to it collapsing into the basement. The secondary concern was the effect it could have on the resale value should the home be sold.
Th customer called Clarke Basement Systems and spoke to Ron Monk, our sales rep. He explained what needed to be done and soon after Don Clarke and the Foundation Supportworks team came in to fix the problem. They used GeoLock Wall anchors with Liquid Rubber on the exterior. GeoLock Wall Anchors were used which first stabilized the wall to prevent further bowing and secondly allowed for the wall to be straightened. Liquid Rubber was applied to the exterior to seal the wall and protect the inside of the house from water leakage. They installed Anchors in the yard about 12 feet from the home and the anchor rods were fastened to them and wall plates inside the house. Once the wall was stabilized the bolts on the wall plates inside the home were adjusted to straighten the wall. The client was relieved to know that further and costly damage to the home was averted and it came with a transferable warranty.
Chris and Elvira T. were having trouble controlling their Bolton, ON basement’s moisture problem. Without effective drainage, their basement was flooding and causing them unnecessary headache. They reached out to the professionals at Clarke Basement Systems for help.
David Macdougall met with Chris and Elvira to analyze their basement’s predicament. After a comprehensive examination, David suggested the installation of the TripleSafe Sump System and the IceGuard Discharge Line Anti-freeze device. The combination of these two products would solve their drainage issues and prevent the cold weather from causing the drain lines to freeze. Primary Foreman Graham Gottschalk managed the installation of these products quickly and effectively, and Chris and Elvira were thrilled with the final result.
