Unbelievable transformation by one of our System Design Specialists, Chris Luke, and Installation Foreman, Lucio Flores. They worked together to improve the musty, damp, dirty conditions by eliminating the condensation, and found a reliable solution for the dirt floor, rusty steel and rotted posts.
By installing CleanSpace™, CleanSpace® Drainage Matting, MoistureLOC, our clients are thrilled to be guaranteed all mould and moisture is out of their basement.
Before, this basement had water leaking through the floor-wall joints. Then, we installed our CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier over the foundation wall to completely cover and protect against water seepage. It directs water into the interior drainage and sump system.
This home in Aurora, Ontario, had been experiencing a water seepage issue. Our customer was looking to sell the house and need a permanent waterproofing solution. Our WaterGuard® Below-Floor Drainage System and CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier were installed to collect the groundwater internally and direct it into the sump system. Our customer is now able to resell the home, and our transferable warranty covers new homeowners.
When you arrive at a cottage, the first thing you expect is the smell of nature as you get out of the car, and maybe a small fire burning in a wood stove. What you don’t expect is a musty smell coming from a crawl space, spreading throughout the entire cottage.
A customer in Fenelon Falls, Ontario, was dealing with a musty smelling basement. Water was entering the space, and the smell was starting to render the cottage unuseable. The cottage owner reached out to Clarke Basement Systems, and System Design Specialist Ryan Hanlon designed a full waterproofing system for the crawl space. The system included a complete encapsulation with CleanSpace® Vapour Barrier, and R20 Wall Membrane to insulate the space, installed by Foreman Lucio Flores.
The customer is thrilled that her basement is now waterproofed. Not only did we eliminate the smell, but we also blocked a hole in the foundation that raccoons were using as an entryway to the crawl space. Some unhappy raccoons but a very happy customer!
A customer in Barrie, Ontario, was looking for a minimal fix for their water seepage issue coming from three block walls causing damage to the basement. They wanted a quick solution so that they could finalize their upcoming renovation project.
Rob Langton, System Design Specialist, came up with a 2-part solution. Jose and his crew began by installing:
WaterGuard® Drainage System
ThermalDry® Wall Membrane
Our customer was delighted with the work Jose and his team had done. They also insisted on calling us back to complete the basement when they had their renovation plan set.
Homeowners in Brechin, Ontario, had an issue with the condition of their crawl space. The owners were in the process of putting the house on the market and wanted to make sure the house was looking and functioning at its best. They noticed the crawl space had become very wet, unhealthy and unsightly. They needed a fast and reliable solution.
Rob Malcomson, a System Design Specialist, was able to prepare a safe solution to the problem. Lucio Flores, Installation Foreman, and his team installed a system that would make the crawl space clean and dry:
CleanSpace® and our Drainage Matting System were used to encapsulate the area sealing away ground moisture and controlling humidity in the home. ThermalDry® Wall Membrane R20 was used on all exterior walls and header spaces to help save energy and make the crawl space warmer in the winter.
With the project complete, the homeowners were able to list their house for sale with a clean, dry bill of health for their crawl space that included a transferrable warranty to the new owners.
A home in Bolsover, Ontario, had a crawlspace that was damp, cold and unhealthy. The Homeowner was worried about pipes freezing in the winter from drafts into the crawl space and cold floors.
The customer called Clarke Basement Systems and spoke to Chris Luke, who explained the solution we came up with for the problem. Our team came in and did an Encapsulation of the crawlspace to isolate the home from the earth and spray foam in the header space to stop outside air leakage.
The customer was satisfied because the Floors are now warmer in the home and there are no more worries of pipes freezing.
Homeowners in Orillia, ON, were concerned about their dirty and musty crawlspace. The crawlspace wasn’t insulated well enough, causing a lot of heat to be lost during the winter. It also had an awful musty smell that was extremely uninviting!
The homeowner was anxious about the cost that would incur if they did nothing to fix the crawlspace and even refused to spend time away from their home during winter because they feared the pipes would freeze from the heat loss. Luckily, they contacted Clarke Basement Systems for a free estimate with System Design Specialist, Rob Malcomson.
Once he inspected the home, he knew that the best solution was to encapsulate and insulate the crawlspace completely. Our team would need to remove and dispose of all debris and old insulation, install CleanSpace® liner and CleanSpace® Drainage Matting to existing walls and floors and install ThermalDry® insulation on all exterior walls to joists.
Once the work was complete, the homeowner was ecstatic and relieved knowing that their crawl space was cleaned out, encapsulated and insulated. The homeowner would no longer have to worry about heat loss, rodents, or the health of the home.
This cottage had deteriorating floor joist and structure due to high humidity. Look at how we fixed this problem.
