A home in Toronto, Ontario was experiencing basement flooding due to a window located close to a downspout. It was not draining away the water fast enough and when it rained the homeowners spent a lot of time mopping up the water to prevent damage from the flooding.
The customer called Clarke Basement Systems and Claude Mathieu explained the solution we came up with to rid them of their problem. Don Clarke and the team came in and excavated to create new positive drainage. They installed the new SunHouse™ Window Well enclosure allowing more sunlight in, and none of the leaves and debris backing up the drain would cause the basement to flood again.
The homeowner was pleased knowing they wouldn't have to waste any time cleaning up water that leaked into the basement. They wouldnt need to pay for damaged floors and the window brought in more light.
A home in Toronto, Ontario had a basement that was very damp and leaked in several locations when it rained. The basement is large, and they would see water coming up through the ceramic tile joints. The issue was hydrostatic water pressure from below the house, as well as moisture penetration through the foundation walls. This unwanted water entry was a result of a failure of a proper external waterproofing system when building the home. The basement was finished, and they wanted to have space with no water leaking in causing mould and damage.
The customer no longer wanted to deal with a smelly basement and damaged items, so they called Clarke Basement Systems. Jose Martinez and the team installed a WaterGuard® around the perimeter of the basement to capture groundwater. A ThermalDry® Wall membrane was used to direct moisture from foundation walls and direct it to the WaterGuard. A SuperSump® Premier sump pump with UltraSump® Battery Back-up in case of a power failure was installed to collect water and discharge it outside through our IceGuard® Discharge Line System. This system ensures that any ground water penetrating the basement is captured and pumped away from foundation. The customer is happy knowing they can finish the basement and use the space with no worry about water damage.
When dealing with a stressful situation, lightening the mood can be helpful. Sometimes we make fun of the situation we're in, or we give something a quirky name.
A couple in Cookstown, Ontario, was dealing with a water seepage issue below their front window. The water was preventing them from utilizing their basement, and they had started referring to it as the "exterior fishbowl." They dreamed of finishing their basement but wanted to get rid of the fishbowl first.
They decided to reach out to Clarke Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Chris Luke met the couple at their home and inspected the space. He designed a system to keep their basement dry and give them the means to finish the room with confidence.
Foreman Jose Martinez dug a trench around the basement's perimeter and installed our WaterGuard® Drain System. The customers already had a sump system in place, so Jose connected the drain to the system. The basement encapsulated with CleanSpace® to stop moisture at the walls, and a WellDuct® was installed beneath the window.
The homeowners can't wait to finish their basement finally. They're happy with the work done by our team and no longer have an exterior fishbowl.

The sunken and cracked concrete around your North York home is both an eyesore and a safety hazard. It is also likely to get worse with time, but we can fix it for you!
Our experts use PolyLevel, a superior polyurethane foam to provide reliable concrete lifting & leveling solutions. Small holes are drilled in the concrete and the expansion of the foam lifts & levels the concrete. The majority of contractors you will call use mudjacking instead of foam. Mudjacking is heavier, requires larger holes in the concrete and does not last as long as PolyLevel.
If your home has cracked concrete steps, pool decks, patios, or other slabs, then NexusPro is the right solution. NexusPro repairs concrete cracks and joints and is ultra-durable, so it will withstand UV rays, extreme weather, and more.
After utilizing our expert concrete repair solutions, consider the powerful concrete sealant, SealantPro. SealantPro further protects your concrete by bonding with it to guard against oil, gasoline, liquids, and other debris. In just one coat, SealantPro extends the life of your concrete by 3 to 5 times overall.

The City of Toronto, ON was having issues with one of their water waste plants, which was suffering from water intrusion into the basement after heavy rainfall. The building was 50 years old and was in need of repair, so they reached out to Clarke Basement Systems to remediate their problem.
Claude Mathieu went to the water waste plant to assess the situation, and found that they were in need of effective drainage. He suggested the DryTrak interior waterproofing system, combined with the Flangeless WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. He also advocated the use of the TripleSafe Sump Pump for added protection against future flooding. Primary Foreman Rob Trevisan brought a team of specialists to perform installation, and they have saved the water waste plant from future water issues.
