Who doesn’t love going to the cottage? From leaving work on a Friday afternoon to when you first walk through the door, we can’t wait to get away from it all and smell the fresh air.

For a customer in Fenelon Falls, Ontario, fresh air wasn’t all she was smelling. A broken, old sump pump was causing quite a stench in her cottage crawl space. The odour was spreading throughout the whole cottage and had become the main talking point when guests came to visit. 

System Design Specialist Ryan Hanlon created a full waterproofing system for the customer that included a SmartSump® Sump Pump and an UltraSump® Battery Backup. Foreman Lucio Flores and his crew installed the products, removing not just water from the crawl space, but the musty smell too.

The customer is delighted that her cottage smells fresh once again. Her basement is waterproofed for many years to come, with a warranty too!

A homeowner in Mississauga had recently purchased a 170-year-old home. He and his wife were moved in and ready to entertain guests, but there was one problem. They had a stinky sump pump. Their entertainment room was in their basement, but guests were hesitant to go downstairs due to the smell. Frustrated, the customer reached out to Clarke Basement Systems.

The couple had Clarke Basement Systems install a sump pump at their previous home and were looking for the same solution. System Design Specialist Alex Barnik met with the customer and explained the different types of sump pumps. After deciding on a SuperSump® pump and an IceGuard® Discharge System, Foreman Lucio Flores worked hard installing the new products. The couple is extremely satisfied with the new sump pump, and they can now entertain in a smell-free basement.

Our customer in Etobicoke, Ontario, was not protected in the event of pump failure, power loss, or clogged and frozen discharge pipes. With no backup system, their home could become flooded and damaged resulting in costly repairs and replacement.
