Water Seepage in Two-Year-Old Home in Cavan, Ontario

It’s a great feeling when you find that perfect home. You can finally start to settle in and make the place your own, but unfortunately, sometimes there are issues that even new houses are struck with. 

Customers in Cavan, Ontario, had recently purchased their first brand new home. They were excited to have the space to grow their family, but after only a couple of years, they were getting water in their basement. Frustrated and unsure of what to do, the new homeowners decided to give Clarke Basement Systems a call.

System Design Specialist Rob Malcomson met with the homeowners and inspected their basement. He discovered the sump pump the customers already had wasn’t getting all the water. He designed a system to guide the water to the sump, and a date was set for the repair.

Foreman Lucio Flores first installed a full perimeter of our WaterGuard® Drain System to catch water at the floor/wall joint and guide it to the sump pump. To drain water from the walls, the space was encapsulated with ThermalDry® Wall Membrane, helping the basement retain heat.

The customer is looking forward to finally using their basement. They are excited to grow their family and can do so knowing their home is safe, and their investment is protected.
