Our customer in Toronto, Ontario, contacted our company regarding an issue with both the interior and exterior of their home. The grading of an area outside of their home was causing water to flow towards the foundation and underneath a door, resulting in damage to both the drywall and personal belongings. The build-up of water was creating hydrostatic pressure as it was trying to force its way through the foundation.   Luckily, they decided to place a call to Clarke Basement Systems. After speaking with a representative, an appointment with System Design Specialist, Ron Monk, was made. Ron assessed the area both interior and exterior and provided multiple solutions. Shane, Installation Foreman, installed: a WaterGuard® Drainage System ThermalDry® Wall Membrane SuperSump® Premier Sump Pump System Buried IceGuard® Discharge Line and an Exterior TrenchDrain™ WaterGuard® and ThermalDry® Membrane work together to eliminate goundwater trying to seep into the home by directing it into the SuperSump® System. An Exterior TrenchDrain™ was installed to collect the surface water as it flowed towards the foundation. These systems connect to a buried discharge line that directed the water away from the foundation of the home.    Our customer was pleased with the job done. Purchased Home Needed Waterproofing and Foundation Support, Dundalk, ON
A home in Dundalk, Ontario, was newly purchased but had some issues. There was water entry in the basement and sagging floors making the basement extremely unhealthy. The home was purchased for their daughter, and the parents wanted it to be healthy and leveled before she moved in. The customer called Clarke Basement Systems and talked to Rob Malcomson, who explained all that needed to be done. Jose and the team came in and installed a WaterGuard in the perimeter of the floor leading to the newly installed Supersump. They installed ThermalDry wall membrane on the walls to direct any water and moisture into the Watergaurd system. SmartJacks and supplementary beams were installed under the sagging joists to support floor above. The house value is now improved and the family is happy about a dry healthy basement with level floors.
Perimeter Basement Waterproofing, Caledon
A stunning home in Caledon, Ontario, had a basement that was not waterproofed. The homeowners had noticed that the basement was getting a surplus of water leaking from the walls and wanted to deter the water into the home's Sump Pump. After a call to Clarke Basement Systems, we were able to send out our System Design Specialist over to take a look at the work at hand. Ben Wallis, our specialist, arrived at the home to provide the homeowners with a detailed quote and honest opinion on what products will be used and how they will affect the waterproofing of the basement. Ben suggested our CleanSpace wall membrane be placed around the home's entire basement for any water coming into the house would trickle down the wall and to the floor. Moving toward the floor, we would have our Installation specialist, Dave Jackson, jackhammer a trench around the perimeter of the basement to house our drainage system. The drainage system will hold all the water from their membrane and make its way through the system and into the sump. Treat this like a little water road around the edges and leads into the bigger deposit. Following the drainage system to the end, a new Triple Safe® Sump Pump will be installed to circulate the water properly. The job consisted of one day being the jackhammering and placement of all the materials and the second was the final touches and pouring of the concrete on the drainage system to conceal it.
Keeping our Homes Value Up, and Keeping the Water Down!
Our basements are a commonly forgotten place, along with the problem that comes with it that can significantly impact our home's value. For example, our customer in Bolton, Ontario, called up Clarke Basement Systems after discovering water at the floor-wall joint along the perimeter of their basement. Their main concern was the potential mold issues that could make their house unlivable. In addition, the value of their home was depreciating, and stored items now had water damage.   Installation team Lucio Flores and his capable crew installed our WaterGuard® sub-floor drainage system that directs infiltrated water into the SuperSump® system. Then, they successfully placed the CleanSpace® membrane along the basement perimeter that works to funnel any moisture or leaking water into the WaterGuard®.   The happy customer was pleased to know that our three trustworthy systems could work together to take care of the groundwater permanently, and the fear of mold would no longer be resting on their shoulders!
