The customer used a shop vac and some old carpet to try and control the water
One of the great things about a basement is the extra storage they provide. It’s easy to run out of space on the main floor, so having a safe space for your extra stuff is a great asset.
A customer in Sharon, Ontario, enjoyed having a useable storage space in his basement until one day, the area was wet and musty. Water was entering the basement and soaking his belongings. He tried to deal with the water himself, but no matter what he did, it wouldn’t stop.
Tired of using a shop vac to suck up the water, the customer reached out to Clarke Basement Systems. The homeowner met with System Design Specialist Ben Wallis, and Ben inspected the home. He designed a unique system to keep the basement dry, and a date was set for the installation.
Foreman Jose Martinez and his crew worked hard to install the waterproofing system. The first step was to install an in-floor drain system, WaterGuard®, to catch any seeping water from the walls. Jose then encapsulated the space with CleanSpace® Vapour Barrier, keeping moisture from seeping through the walls and into the basement. To efficiently remove any water out of the basement, Jose’s crew installed a brand new TripleSafe® Sump Pump with an UltraSump® Battery Backup.
The customer is pleasantly surprised with the work done. He wasn’t sure anybody could keep the water at bay, but is glad he chose a reliable and trusted company.
