Leaking Stairwell Soaks Basement in Uxbridge, Ontario

For many people, spring is a refreshing time. We clean our homes, get ready for summer and finally get to start enjoying some beautiful weather. For others, though, spring means it’s time to mop up water in the basement.

A customer in Uxbridge, Ontario, has a sump pump in their basement that was continuously running whenever it rained. Water was leaking into the basement through the stairwell, and the amount of water was starting to be too much. Concerned for his basement, the customer reached out to Clarke Basement Systems.

System Design Specialist Chris Luke met with the homeowner and designed a unique system for his basement. A date was set for the repair, and Foreman Dave Jackson and his crew installed the system.

Dave installed an additional sump pump to act as a backup in case the original sump fails. WaterGuard® was installed laterally throughout the floor to drain water away, and an IceGuard® Discharge removes water year-round while preventing any backups from freezing.

The customer is thrilled that his basement is protected again. The stairwell is dry, and he no longer has to worry about his sump failing.
