Wet, Mouldy, and Odourful Crawl Space Transformation, Orillia ON

In Orillia, Ontario, a crawl space had started to omit a vile odor. These elderly homeowners were big on entertaining, but their problematic crawl space has put that all on hold. Using their contractors from their past, they needed help finding a solution themselves. Fortunately, they recommended our team at Clarke Basement Systems to come to investigate the crawl space further. Our System Design Specialist, Logan Watson, went to the home for a thorough inspection. He started from the exterior and made his way inside the crawl space. Based on his findings, the entire area was wet, full of insects, and odorful, and there were signs of rotting beams. The best approach Logan came up with was to encapsulate the crawl space to keep all water out. Regarding the constant moisture, a dehumidifier was brought up, which gave the homeowners a sigh of relief, especially when battling the humid summer days. 

After all the products were brought to the owner's attention, we scheduled our installation team to begin the work. Installation Foreman Lucio Flores and Specialist Russell VanderMuelen came to the home to start the work. The products installed were SmartDrain™, Everlast™ vent covers, CleanSpace® encapsulation, and SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifier. After all the products were installed, the homeowners noticed the quality of their circulating air changed immediately. Their biggest concerns were that the moist, nasty air would compromise their breathing health and the lack of family coming over. The worries flew out the window the second the crawl space transformation was finished.
