Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Failed Weeping System Causes Basement Leak in Aurora, Ontario

Sometimes we live with issues in our home for years before deciding to do something about it. This can be a good plan for a few years, but the time comes where something needs to be done.  A customer in Aurora, Ontario, has an unfinished basement dealing with a water seepage issue. Each time the thaw came in the spring, water would pool on the floor, but the space was mainly used as a workout area. The homeowner decided he wanted to finish the basement down the road, but he figured dealing with the leak should be the first step. He wanted to make sure his money wasn’t wasted if the leak came back. The customer decided to call Clarke Basement Systems and met with System Design Specialist Dean Merendino. Dean completed a thorough inspection of the home and discovered three spots where water was coming in. The issue was a failing weeping tile system and a few small cracks in the foundation walls. A system was designed to keep the basement dry, and a date was set for the repair.  Foreman Dave Jackson and Installation Specialists Bryan Richards and Alan Murphy worked hard installing the system. They used CleanSpace® Vapour Barrier to encapsulate the walls to prevent moisture from seeping through. To deal with any leaks from the floor/wall joint, a full perimeter of our WaterGuard® Drain System was installed. These products drain water to a TripleSafe® Sump Pump, and the water is discharged through an IceGuard® Line.  The customer is very happy with the work done and is glad he chose Clarke Basement Systems for the repair. When the time is right, he can finish his basement without worrying about the water returning. “The basement is great, the guys did a terrific job, and it’s super comforting knowing the basement will be dry for life.
