Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: Home Needs Saving, Schomberg ON
Challenge
Challenge
These homeowners in Schomberg, Ontario, finally gave us a shout after experiencing a ton of water in their basement, foundation shifting, and wall and floor cracks. The wife had noticed an abundance of water on her basement floor but thought it was nothing to worry about. She had done insurance claims to see what they would cover, but the results were temporary. Every 6 months, they noticed spiderwebbing cracks forming in the garage floor, blocks in the foundation starting to shift, the bricks outside doing the same, and constant water entering the home during rainfall. Enough was enough, and thanks to a family member's recommendation, the homeowners immediately called Clarke Basement Systems.

Our System Design Specialist, Ben Wallis had, started his inspection from outside the home and made his way to the basement to see all of the water points of entry and how they are translating inside. For the structural aspect, Ben suggested our GeoLock™ wall anchor system which will use anchors in the home's lawn and plated on the inner wall to pull the wall back upright. Next, there will be a full cold room install, new sump pump, and basement encapsulation involving CleanSpace®, WaterGuard®, and drain ports. Our Installation team of Don Clarke himself and Installation Specialists Andrew Latour and Dustin Biggs got to work to transform this space back to its usual self. The results were night and day to the point that the results floored the homeowners. They work from home and can live their days without worrying about their basement issues.
