Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: Storeroom With Multiple Leaks, Lindsay ON
Challenge
Challenge:
A storage room in a home in Lindsay, Ontario, had started to leak. The sump pump could not keep up with the surplus water. The homeowners were concerned that the water would damage the walls or even start a flood in the basement. They spent their time trying to remove the water on rainy days, but it came to the point that they couldn't stop the water. Reaching out to the professionals at Clarke Basement Systems was their viable option to resolve this problem once and for all.
Solution
Solution:
Our experienced System Design Specialist, Chris Luke, was assigned to the home to perform his multiple-point inspection to recommend the right products for the job. The system he designed was:
- WaterGuard® perimeter drainage system with drain ports
- ThermalDry™ wall insulation keeps water out while keeping storeroom warm
- SuperSump® sump pump with battery backup to discharge water effectively and run even during a power outage
- IceGuard® anti-freezing discharge line to keep the water flowing all year round
Our crew Dave Jackson, Alan Murphy, Dustin Biggs, and Bryan Richards, took on the workload and left impeccable results. The team started with the sump pump replacement and made their way to the perimeter drainage system. After everything was installed in the basement, the final step was setting up the IceGuard® outside, and then they tested the entire plumbing. From worried to relieved, this home was ready to combat any rainstorm or thawing season.
