Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: Wet, Mouldy Basement No Match for Waterproofing Team in Port McNicholl, ON
Challenge
Challenge
A home in Port McNicoll, Ontario, had a very problematic wet basement especially around the perimeter of the building. The few cracks in the walls let outside rainwater trickle into the basement. This environment caused walls to warp, mould to form, and produce a musty smell that lingered throughout the entire area.
Solution
Solution
To prevent water from entering the house from outside, System Design Specialist Rob Malcomson came up with a plan to make the basement a healthy, clean environment. Jose Martinez and our expert waterproofing team installed our WaterGuard® perimeter drainage system to better channel the water into the sump system. Since the basement perimeter was compromised, the job took five days to complete. The scheduled work was dedicated to drywall removal, jackhammering the trench to install our drainage system, add our CleanSpace® wall membrane to channel water from the wall to the WaterGuard®. The team used concrete to finish the drainage system and any last final touches. After everything was completed, this home look spotless. The homeowners were incredibly happy with their decision to have the Clarke Basement Systems team fix their leaky basement.
