Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: Time to get Crackin' 🍳
Challenge
A home in Cannington, Ontario, had a substantial amount of water in the laundry room. With items touching the floor getting soaked, the homeowners found a crack in the foundation's wall. Who wants a sock-soaking room when you are just trying to wash your socks in the laundry? Leave the washing in the washer. Clarke Basement Systems was called to put a stop to the leaking.
Solution
Our System Design Specialist Chris Luke arrived at the home. He inspected the source of the leaking and came up with an easy solution that would permanently keep the laundry room dry. Our installation foreman Ali Fereidouni started by making a dry well at the floor-wall joint. The dry well will hold excess water to ensure that it won't end up back in the laundry room. Next, our FlexiSpan® was added to the crack in the foundation wall. This is a malleable material that sits fairly flush into the wall. The sealer keeps water from coming through and channels it down the wall and into the dry well. Things got crackin'; now they got sealin'.
