Clarke Basement Systems Case Studies: Old Sump Pump Stinks Up Home in Mississauga, Ontario
Challenge
Purchasing a new home is always an exciting, and sometimes nerve-racking, experience. Whether it’s your first home or your fifth, you’re looking forward to getting unpacked, settling in, and enjoying your new space. When you’re finally ready to relax, the last thing you want to deal with is a horrible smell. But for a Mississauga, Ontario homeowner, this was the stinky situation.
The customer had recently purchased a 170-year-old home. After moving in, he noticed a horrible smell coming from the sump pump. Upon inspection, he realized it looked as bad as it smelled, and it wasn’t even functioning properly. Situated near the basement entertainment room, the pump made entertaining nearly impossible. As a former customer at his previous home in Milton, he was familiar with our sump pump expertise. With his wife begging for a solution, he contacted Clarke Basement Systems for a new pump.
Solution
After inspecting the old sump pump, System Design Specialist Alex Barnik recommended a SuperSump® pump with an IceGuard® Discharge System. The SuperSump® is built with cast iron, pumps out 2,220 gallons / hour, and puts his old pump to shame. IceGuard® is an added bonus, preventing any freezing in the discharge lines. These products work together to ensure the basement will stay dry, and smell-free, for years to come. Lucio Flores was the Foreman on this job, working hard and efficiently to give the customer the best possible experience.
The husband and wife are very satisfied with their state-of-the-art sump pump. They can finally entertain their guests and breathe a sigh of relief without feeling sick after!
