A home in Oshawa, Ontario had water leaking into the basement. There was water at floor wall joint as well as cracks on the foundation wall that had attempted to fix. The homeowners couldn't use their basement anymore due to mould and constant water making the area unhealthy. 

The customer called Clarke Basement Systems to fix their basement problems and make use of the space again. Steve Matthews, the inspector,  explained what we would be doing to correct these water issues. Lucio Flores and the team came in and installed a WaterGuard® Below-Floor Drain, CleanSpace® Vapour Barrier, TripleSafe™ Complete Sump pump and an IceGuard® Discharge Line System. The CleanSpace® was installed on all the walls keeping the moisture and water away from the basement, dropping it all into the installed WaterGuard®. The WaterGuard® pushes all the water into the TripleSafe™. The sump pump pushes the water out through the IceGuard® away from the home. This leaves the customers confident in renovating their basement again and no worrying about water damage in the future.

A church in Cobourg, Ontario, had a basement that water was found puddling in, in the low areas of the floor. This was happening because of hydrostatic pressure pushing water up through the floor. With constant puddles, comes water damage and odours that no customer wants.

The customer called Clarke Basement Systems and we came up with a solution that fit their needs and budget. Our TripleSafe™ Complete Sump Pump System was installed to rid the area of the pressure and stop any future flooding. Two IceGuard® Discharge Line Systems were also installed on the discharge line to prevent the possibility of future freezing of the lines. The church is now waterproofed so that the customer does not have to worry about flooding or water damage in the future.

Every homeowner is afraid of mould. It’s unsightly, smells, and can have terrible health effects. In many cases it can simply be scrubbed away, and the issue is gone, but sometimes mould can take over and cause damage to your beloved space. Caused by moisture, when you find mould in your home, you’re usually dealing with not only a mould problem, but a water seepage problem too. 

Katy, a homeowner in Cobourg, Ontario, owns a gorgeous bungalow with a finished basement. She discovered that water was entering the front wall of her home in three different spots, causing mould to grow and build up. She was concerned about potential health issues caused by the mould and it was difficult to use the space. With a bungalow only consisting of two floors, she was unable to use almost half of the space in her home, causing frustration and cramping on the main level. A fun space to entertain and shoot some pool was inaccessible and the problem was only getting worse. 

Katy reached out to Clarke Basement Systems for a permanent solution for her mould madness.  A team was sent out to remove the mould, along with 83 feet of drywall and insulation. System Design Specialist Ryan Hanlon designed a waterproofing system and Foreman David Jackson got busy installing it. The system consisted of CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier, WaterGuard® and a TripleSafe™ Sump Pump. Together these products prevent moisture from entering the space and send any water that does enter into a drain where it is pumped out. Since most Ontario basements deal with high humidity on a regular basis, we also installed an Aprilaire De-Humidifier to ensure the basement stays dry and safe. 

Since the repairs have been done Katy has been ecstatic that she can finally use her basement again. She was very pleased with how the work turned out and has played many games of pool since its completion! She has since refinished her basement too and can finally entertain guests in a dry and safe area.

The sump pump set-up I have presently is located in a crawl space with a liner of 24" deep x 16" wide with a 1/3 hp pump at the bottom of the hole and a battery back up pump located at the mid-way part of the sump hole. There is a 5 ft distance from the top of the sump hole to the exit opening to the tube leading to the outside of the house. During the summer the sump water is pumped out a 1 1/4" hose buried about one foot below ground, and during winter I use a different 1 1/4" hose with a heating cable which are wrapped in insulation tubing laying above ground. Both pumps are getting old and I would like to replace them with your Smart Sump system. With the recent winter rain storm our sump hole was filling every 90 secs for about 6 hours.
