We wanted to make our clients happy about their new home again! They had leaking and condensation in their basement, but finally had enough and wanted their basement fully waterproofed. By using WaterGuard® and ThermalDry Wall, we were able to repair, insulate, and control the water leaking into their home.
A home in Oshawa, Ontario had a wet basement that was causing odours in the upstairs space of the house. The homeowner could not store any personal items in the basement because all of them would get damaged. They wanted to get rid of the mouldy, smelly, wet area to allow for storage and resale in the future.
The customer called Clarke Basement Systems and spoke to Steve Matthews, who explained the solution that would be done to fix the home. Jose Martinez and the team came in and installed CleanSpace® Vapour Barrier, WaterGuard® Below-Floor Drain, and a TripleSafe™ sump pump. The CleanSpace® directs any water and moisture into the installed WaterGuard®, that then directs any excess water into the TripleSafe™ sump pump and is then directed away from the home.
The customer was satisfied with the solution because the space is now dry and healthy. There is no longer any smell, and they feel confident storing items in the newly waterproofed area.
Watching your hard work go to waste is a hard situation to deal with. You put your time, effort and money into something, and circumstances out of your control come and take it away. It’s frustrating, but luckily, there’s usually something you can do to prevent it from happening again.
A family from Oshawa, Ontario, reached out to Clarke Basement Systems after discovering water in their basement. The space was finished, but water had damaged the floor and lower sections of the walls beyond repair. They were ready to refinish the basement but didn’t want their money to go to waste.
System Design Specialist Chris Luke travelled to their home and inspected the house. He found where the water was coming in and designed a unique system for the homeowners.
Foreman Dave Jackson and his crew, Installation Specialists Bryan Richards and Alan Murphy, worked hard installing the system. Since water was entering through the floor/wall joint, they installed our WaterGuard® Drain System around the perimeter. The walls were encapsulated with ThermalDry® Wall Membrane to prevent moisture seepage and insulate the space. Our system centres around the sump pump, so the customer chose our patented SuperSump® pump. Keeping their basement dry was the top priority before redoing their basement, which made it easy for the family to add an IceGuard® Discharge Line to prevent any backups from freezing.
The family is ecstatic that the basement is finally dry. They were concerned they’d be dealing with water forever, but are now looking forward to redoing the basement and gaining the space back.

Soil erosion in Oshawa is known to cause damage to concrete driveways, sidewalks and patios. Sunken and cracked concrete around your home is both an eyesore and a safety hazard. Your concrete damage is also likely to get worse without the proper solution.
Clarke Basement Systems uses PolyLevel®, a superior concrete repair technique to raise and level concrete slabs. Small holes are drilled in the concrete, a polyurethane foam is injected and the expanding foam lifts the concrete. Many contractors use mudjacking to repair concrete, but there are several problems with this method. With mudjacking, the process requires larger holes, the material is heavier and it can erode and washout. PolyLevel® is an effective, long-lasting solution for restoring your concrete.
We also provide an effective cracked concrete repair solution, NexusPro. This ultra-durable cracked concrete repair system effectively seals cracks and joints, withstanding fluctuating temperatures, UV rays, extreme temperatures, and more to assure it lasts a lifetime.
After utilizing our concrete repair solutions, consider a concrete sealant that can extend your slab's life by 3 to 5 times in just one application. With SealantPro, a durable concrete sealing solution, your slabs will be protected against oil, gasoline, liquid, and debris!

Homeowner in Oshawa, ON, had a lot of water seepage that was causing damage to the finished walls in her basement, as well as the carpet.
The homeowner was very stressed due to the water leaking in her basement. The carpet had to be torn out, and the walls were completely ruined. The space could no longer be utilized for their workout activities or guests. They were concerned with the overall damage and future damage that would occur if they did not get the leak fixed.
They knew that they wanted to fix the damaging cracks in their foundation, they contacted Clarke Basement Systems to set up an inspection with System Design Specialist, Ron Monk.
Ron Monk attended the home and assessed that the damage was a result of the home being a poured concrete foundation wall, which is susceptible to wall cracks and water damage. The foundation wall cracks are due to the hydrostatic pressure of the poured concrete walls in the home.
In order to properly seal the leak in the foundation, we would need to: Remove and dispose of any finished wall materials such as drywall, studs and insulation. Next, we install our patented FlexiSpan® on the customers poured wall foundation.
Once we had the perfect solution to permanently fix any future water seepage, Installation Foreman, Mark Dougherty and his team got to work! They removed the existing drywall and insulation of the home, then installed FlexiSpan® on the wall foundation.
Once the work was completed, the customer was relieved as there was no further leaking and that the Flexispan® provided a 25-year warranty. Now, the customer can replace their floors, repair their walls, and reclaim the space again for any future guests or workout activities!
We understand how exciting it is to become a homeowner. We wanted to make our clients happy about their new home again! When they had leaking and condensation in their basement, it took away from their experience. When they finally had enough and wanted their basement fully waterproofed, they contacted Clarke Basement Systems for a free quote. Our System Design Specialist, Chris Luke, assessed their home and put together a waterproofing plan that would permanently solve their problems. Once we had our plan set in place, our Installation Foreman, David Jackson, was able to repair, insulate, and control the water leaking into their home by using WaterGuard® and ThermalDry Wall. When we had completed the job, our clients were thrilled, and we were happy to have restored their enthusiasm for their new home again.
Karen M. noticed that she had a leak in her basement which caused her drywall and carpet to go mouldy. This unwanted water created an unpleasant environment for the tenant that occupied her basement, as it was damaging their belongings. Karen decided to contact Clarke Basement Systems for the ultimate solution.
The solution provided included our patented WaterGuard®Below-Floor Drain, CleanSpace® Basement Wall Vapor Barrier, IceGuard® Discharge Line System and the TripleSafe™ Complete Sump Pump System without the battery-operated pump. These systems worked together symbiotically to dry out the damp space and provide suitable drainage while still protecting the basement itself.
Now Karen no longer has to question if her basement is a healthy and livable space. Clarke Basement Systems is pleased to have been able to assist this Oshawa, ON homeowner and landlord with her basement transformation.
A customer contacted us from Oshawa, Ontario, about a problem with their pool in the back yard. The concrete pool deck had settled and started to crack. This problem originated from a large tree located beside the pool that had large roots extending underneath the deck. It started to cause voids which led to the slab sinking and settling. Our customer was looking to sell their home in the near future and knew that an unleveled pool deck would put off potential buyers.
John DiNicolantonio, Project Lead, recommended polyurethane foam be injected beneath the concrete. John explained all the benefits our PolyLevel® Foam system has to offer. It expands beneath the concrete, compresses the soil, then lifts and levels the slab. This ensures that the entire area is protected from any further settlement.
Kyle McKeown, Foreman, drilled small dime-sized holes through the concrete and injected our PolyLevel® Foam underneath the slabs. The foam follows the path of least resistance underneath the concrete filling all the voids. The foam expands to lift the back of the pool deck and stabilize the rest of the area to protect from further settlement.
Our customer was thrilled with the work that was done. They were pleased that the job was completed in an efficient manner and their landscapers could start working as soon as possible.
A home in Oshawa, Ontario, had problems in the basement. There was water leaking into the basement through the foundation causing damage to the floor and drywall. The air quality was musty and mold was starting to form. The homeowner wanted to fix the issues to prevent future damage, to prevent decrease in property value and bring the home back to a healthly state.
The customer called Clarke Basement Systems and talked to Steve Matthews, who explained the process of our solution. Jose Martinez and the team came in and installed WaterGuard, Thermal Dry, TripleSafe and IceGuards. Thermal dry wall membrane was put on the walls to direct any moisture into the newly installed Waterguard along the perimeter of the basement. Any excess water is pushed into the Triplesafe Sump Pump and then out through the IceGaurds, away from the home. This system is guaranteed to keep the basement permanently dry. The customer is happy that we could restore the property value and that the home is healthy and the air is clean.
A home in Oshawa, Ontario had water seeping into the basement. There was water leaking at floor wall joint as well as previously repaired cracks. There was mold and constant flooding. The homeowners could no longer make use of their basement.
The customer called Clarke Basement Systems to fix their basement so they could bring it back to use and feel healthy while doing so. Steve explained to the customer what would be done to the home. Lucio Flores and the team came in and installed a Waterguard, Cleanspace, Triplesafe Sump pump and an Iceguard. The Cleanspace was installed on all the walls keeping the moisture away from the basement and allowing any water to drop down into the Watergaurd. The Watergaurd collects the water and sends it to the TripleSafe Sump pump with three level of protection to keep the basement dry all the time, even in a power outage. The sump pump pushes the water out through the Icegaurd that is protected even in the cold months. With this system the customer will never see water in the basement again! They can rebuild the basement with no worry about leaking.
While Anthony S. was refinishing his Oshawa, ON basement, he needed an effective solution for waterproof flooring that would be durable and attractive. While searching he contacted Clarke Basement Systems, who sent out Claude Mathieu to meet with Anthony about his flooring needs.
Claude introduced Anthony to the wide variety of styles and looks that are available with ThermalDry Flooring. This long lasting solution features raised pegs, allowing a small amount of breathing room to prevent any water seepage from getting stuck underneath. Primary Foreman Rob Trevisan worked diligently with his work crew to install Anthony’s new flooring. The finished project left Anthony with a brand new basement floor that will last him many years to come.
