This multiple-weighted crawl space in Oshawa, Ontario, needs a proper waterproofing job to eliminate the moisture and potential mold build-up that can form. Believe it or not, the house was recently waterproofed before hearing about us. Throughout the spring season, water started to make its way back into the basement and damaged all the belongings stored down there. The homeowners wanted to find a solution that can leave the space permanently waterproofed. After a quick moment of research, Clarke Basement Systems was found and the owners trusted us right off the bat. After a quick call, we were able to send our System Design Specialist, Ryan Hanlon, to the home to showcase our products that would keep that space dry.
Ryan was able to suggest our AprilAire® Dehumidifier, to soak up all the moisture. The ThermalDry Insulation was installed to see the space warm and not have the home use extra air conditioning or heating bills, and our drainage systems to properly dispose of the water.
After the quote was completed, it was time to send our Installation Specialist on a later day. Jose arrived at the home and started to encapsulate the basement. With our process, we always make sure we clean up our surrounding space so there is no mess or debris going anywhere. Our products have been tested in many climates, basements, and through the wettest conditions to ensure that they can withstand your waterproofing needs. Jose started by cleaning up the space at hand – you can't work on a surface that has been covered in debris. From there he started to lay out our insulation that covers the floors and walls to help with the insulation. After that our drainage matting is set in which will encourage any excess water that may come in, to follow the drainage matting and get deposited elsewhere instead of sitting in the crawl space. Our CleanSpace® wall membrane is the last layer on the walls to be installed to keep the water at bay and away from inside the home. Lastly Jose installed our AprilAire®
