In Orillia, ON, our System Design Specialist, Logan Watson, visited homeowners concerned about a nasty smell coming upstairs from their crawl space. Logan put a proposal together after completing a full inspection. He created a system solution to control the crawl space's moisture and smell. Our crew began work by insulating the crawl space rim joists with our ThermalDry®, which regulates the area’s temperature. Next, they installed our CleanSpace® membrane system to encapsulate the crawl space fully. CleanSpace® is a vapour barrier to protect air quality in the house and the crawl space. The system eliminates moisture buildup, and keeps small critters and rodents out, while completely brightening the space up!
If you think this would greatly benefit your home’s air quality and eliminate dampness, so you have more storage options, call us today! We’ll schedule a free quote to transform your dark, musty crawl space into a full-functioning area!

Homeowners in Orillia, ON, were concerned about their dirty and musty crawlspace. The crawlspace wasn’t insulated well enough, causing a lot of heat to be lost during the winter. It also had an awful musty smell that was extremely uninviting!
The homeowner was anxious about the cost that would incur if they did nothing to fix the crawlspace and even refused to spend time away from their home during winter because they feared the pipes would freeze from the heat loss. Luckily, they contacted Clarke Basement Systems for a free estimate with System Design Specialist, Rob Malcomson.
Once he inspected the home, he knew that the best solution was to encapsulate and insulate the crawlspace completely. Our team would need to remove and dispose of all debris and old insulation, install CleanSpace® liner and CleanSpace® Drainage Matting to existing walls and floors and install ThermalDry® insulation on all exterior walls to joists.
Once the work was complete, the homeowner was ecstatic and relieved knowing that their crawl space was cleaned out, encapsulated and insulated. The homeowner would no longer have to worry about heat loss, rodents, or the health of the home.

During the winter months, the homeowner’s floors were extremely cold! This was because their crawlspace below wasn’t insulated properly, causing a lot of heat loss! The home would also occasionally have a musty smell because of the dirty conditions in the crawlspace. On top of those issues, the homeowner also had rodent problems! They wanted to completely encapsulate the crawlspace so that the bugs and animals could no longer get in.
The homeowner knew that if they did not fix the issues in their home, they would not be able to potentially sell their home in the future. They were anxious about the cost that would incur if they did nothing to fix the crawlspace and even refused to spend time away from their home during winter because they feared the pipes would freeze from the heat loss.
Luckily, they contacted Clarke Basement Systems for a free estimate with System Design Specialist, Rob Malcomson. Our team would need to remove and dispose of all debris and old insulation, install CleanSpace® liner and CleanSpace® Drainage Matting to existing walls and floors and install ThermalDry® insulation on all exterior walls to joists.

Over the years our customer in Orillia, Ontario, had persistent leaking in their basement. Water was leaking in from the floor-wall joint damaging the interior walls and floor making the basement unusable.
System Design Specialist, Rob Malcomson, met with the homeowners and provided them with a permanent solution. Our sales manager Jeff even popped by the job site and offered some advice. Foreman, Jose, and his crew installed:
The basement is now dry and healthy for many years to come! Our customer is no longer worried about water entering the basement. The value of their home has increased, and with our transferable warranty, new homeowners will be covered.
A home in Orillia, Ontario, had water entry in multiple locations in the Basement. The water was entering over a long period of time, and caused the basement to be unusable and ruined the interior walls and floor. The homeowner did not want to leave the home for long periods of time in case the pumps failed again.
The customer called Clarke Basement Systems and talked to Rob Maclomson, who explained everything that would be done to waterproof the home. Lucio Flores and the team came in and installed a WaterGuard, SuperSump, ThemalDry Wall Membrane and a Double Pump System. The WaterGuard catches water at entry points and directs it to a SuperSump to handle the volume. A Double Pump system was also installed in a different location due to the high volume of water entering the home. ThermalDry wall was installed to catch condensation on walls and directing it to the Waterguard, also lowering the relative humidity in the space.
With the full waterproofing system, the SuperSump replacing the customers old unreliable sump pump and the DoublePump system installed, the customer has a peace of mind that the home will stay dry if they leave town. They also are able to use the space without worrying about water damage.
A home in Barrie, Ontario, had water entry in the basement. The basement apartment was finished and the water entry was causing the family member that lived in the space to get ill. The water in basement was worsening so the family member was no longer able to live in basement.
The homeowner knew the basement space was unhealthy and unusable so they called Clarke Basement Systems. Rob Malcomson explained everything that would be done to the home to make it waterproofed and healthy again. Lucio and the team came in and installed a SuperSump,WaterGuard and ThermalDry Wall membrane. The WaterGuard helps relieve pressure in block walls, from beneath the floor, collecting water around perimeter of basement space. The SuperSump relieves pressure from beneath floor, managing the volume of water collected from WaterGuard system. The ThermalDry wall membrane collects condensation on the walls, radiant barrier for heat loss, separates finished framing from cold block wall when finished. The customer is ecstatic with result. The basement space has been re finished and is now a dry, healthy space for the family member. Apartment and basement space has been saved.
A home in Orillia, Ontario, had water entering the home through the rear wall behind the washroom area. The Sump pump ran constantly to try to keep up with the water entry. Over time the water had caused mold to grow causing health issues. Power outage was a concern because the sump pump would stop working and the basement could flood. The sump pump needed an updated and in case the owners wanted to sell in the future they wouldn't have any issues.
The customer called Clarke Basement Systems and Rob explained everything we would do to fix this water issue. Jose and the team came in and installed a WaterGuard, CleanSpace and a TripleSafe Ultrasump. The Cleanspace was installed on the wall to collect any water and moisture and guide it down to the Waterguard. The Watergaurd pushes any water into the newly installed Triplesafe sump pump with Ultrasump battery backup to assure a working system during power outage. Finally the Icegaurd was installed to keep it running during the cold months. The customer will no longer have to worry about an unhealthy basement space.
