Who doesn’t love living by the lake? The water is a short walk away, you have a fantastic view to take in at any time, and typically the home’s in these areas are more valuable. There are very few drawbacks to life on the water, but those drawbacks can sometimes cause serious home issues.

A customer in Keswick, Ontario, has an old home that was initially a cottage. She was only a block from the lake, but over the years, her foundation has shifted and started to buckle. Water was coming in every time it rained, and she grew anxious about the safety of her house.

Our System Design Specialist met with the homeowner and inspected the house. He designed a system that would fix both her foundation and water issues, and a date was set for the repair.

Foremen Don Clarke and Jose Martinez, with the help of Installation Specialist Trevor Bowman, repaired the foundation using our PowerBraces® and GeoLock® Wall Anchors. Once the foundation was stabilized, we encapsulated the walls with ThermalDry® Wall Membrane and installed a WaterGuard® Drain System. The new system was connected to a TripleSafe® Sump Pump with an UltraSump® Battery Backup, and the water was discharged through an IceGuard® Line.

The customer is happy to finally trust her home. She’s looking forward to many happy years there and thanks the entire Clarke Basement Systems team for their hard work.

There are many ways water can get into a home’s basement. We’ve seen everything you can imagine and then some, but one of the most typical situations is water seeping through the foundation.

A customer in Keswick, Ontario, had recently moved into an older home. The house was originally a cottage and was renovated into a home, where she was looking forward to many years. She knew a water issue was present in the basement, but the failing foundation made the problems worse. She was even concerned about the home’s integrity and longevity.

The customer met with our System Design Specialist. He inspected the home and designed a system to eliminate any water and repair the foundation.

Foremen Jose Martinez and Don Clarke, along with Installation Specialist Trevor Bowman, stabilized the foundation with PowerBraces® and GeoLock® Wall Anchors before moving onto the waterproofing system. The basement was encapsulated with ThermalDry® Wall Membrane, and a WaterGuard® Drain System was installed around the perimeter. An IceGuard® Discharge Line was installed to keep water out of the basement even during freezing temperatures, and the entire system runs through a TripleSafe® Sump Pump System.

The customer is looking forward to many years of a safe, dry home, and she appreciates the work done by the Clarke Basement Systems team.

Fast & Affordable Concrete Repair

The sunken and cracked concrete around your Keswick home is both an eyesore and a safety hazard. It is also likely to get worse with time, but we can fix it for you!

Our experts use PolyLevel, a superior polyurethane foam to provide reliable concrete lifting & leveling solutions. Small holes are drilled in the concrete and the expansion of the foam lifts & levels the concrete. The majority of contractors you will call use mudjacking instead of foam. Mudjacking is heavier, requires larger holes in the concrete and does not last as long as PolyLevel.

If your home has cracked concrete steps, pool decks, patios, or other slabs, then NexusPro is the right solution. NexusPro repairs concrete cracks and joints and is ultra-durable, so it will withstand UV rays, extreme weather, and more.

After utilizing our expert concrete repair solutions, consider the powerful concrete sealant, SealantPro. SealantPro further protects your concrete by bonding with it to guard against oil, gasoline, liquids, and other debris. In just one coat, SealantPro extends the life of your concrete by 3 to 5 times overall.

Call us today to learn more about our proven concrete leveling, cracked concrete repair, and concrete sealing techniques. We also offer professional installation of LintelLift to repair and support sagging, cracked garage lintels.

A Damaged Basement, Fixed in Keswick, ON

Homeowners in Keswick, ON were devastated when their finished basement was ruined due to the water leaking into their home.

To ensure that no more water damage occurred in their home, they contacted Clarke Basement Systems.

System Design Specialist, Chris Luke, assessed the home and determined that the high-water table was causing a clay bowl effect (The clay bowl effect refers to the natural consequence of excavating and backfilling when building a foundation). To fix this, we would need to install our Thermal Dry Wall Membrane, which leads water down the wall to our WaterGuard® system. The Waterguard® collects water from the floor wall joint, which is directed to their Sump Pump.

Once the plan was set, Installation Foreman Dave Jackson and his team attended the home and installed the Thermal Drywall Membrane and Waterguard® system.

Now, the homeowners can finish their basement, and have no more water damage worries, especially with a 25-year warranty!

Sump System Upgrade in keswick, ON

Layton. H, a homeowner in Keswick, ON, had a working sump pump that was extremely active. He would hear it pumping water through all hours of the day! He was worried that if there were a power outage, his basement would flood. To ensure that all his belongings in his basement didn’t get ruined from water damage, he began investigating how to prevent his sump pump from stopping. One of the options that arose was to get a generator for his home, but that was too expensive. He then stumbled upon Clarke Basement Systems and our reliable backup battery system. After reading our company reviews and learning more about all our patented products on our website, he called to book an inspection.

Chris Luke, System Design Specialist, put a plan together to prevent the sump system from ever potentially failing as well as prevent water buildup from frozen discharge lines. Mark Dougherty installed our TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System that not only discharges 8,328 litres of water per hour but if the primary sump pump fails, the second pump turns on and can discharge an additional 14,763 litres of water! This system is also equipped with the Long-Lasting UltraSump® Battery Backup System which can pump more than 43,532 litres on a full charge! Mark also installed our IceGuard® Discharge line to prevent any buildup of water if the discharge lines freeze in the winter.

Layton can sleep well knowing that his new sump system will never fail and water will always be pumped out during the winter time.

Hi there, after all the melt yesterday I noticed water leaking through a vertical crack ~4ft long in our foundation wall behind the laundry machines. On the exterior I can also see the other side of the crack where the foundation is exposed. After looking around, there doesn't appear to be any other water entry points. This portion of the basement is unfinished. What would the typical cost for fixing this be / what steps would need to be taken?
