Foundation Repair Case Studies: Chimney lift

Challenge

Customer had a chimney that had been added onto the home, and its foundation wall was only 4 feet below ground level where the rest of the basement was 6 feet below grade. The chimney had been built on the fill soil that was put in around the foundation after house was originally built, and was experiencing settlement due to the weight.

Solution

Excavate down to the bottom of the chimney foundation and footing. Install two 288 Helical Piers down to undisturbed solid soils and lift chimney back up to prevent it from settling any further.
