Crack Repair in Basement and Boathouse in Cameron, ON

Customers in Cameron, ON, lived on a beautiful lakefront home. Together, the couple shared a speedboat imported from California to spend their summer days on. It was stored in their boathouse, where System Design Specialist, Ryan Hanlon, discovered cracks throughout the structure. With a fear of the cracks progressing and risking the building collapsing on their beloved boat, they hired Clarke Basement Systems to save their boat house.

To bring the integrity back to the boathouse, installation foreman Jose Martinez installed our CarbonArmour® solution designed for foundation failure. This product uses fibre-reinforced polymers, which are 10 times stronger than steel. This assured the homeowners that their boat would be well kept despite the cracks in the boat house. Once installed, the customers were highly relieved that their boat was safe.

Water Seepage and Bowing Wall Solution in Lakefield, ON

This caving foundation wall in Lakefield, Ontario, was a significant concern for our customer. The primary worry was that the wall would cave in resulting in a costlier repair. To stabilize the wall our team installed CarbonArmor®, to secure the wall from any further movement. ThermalDry® Insulation was placed over the foundation of the walls to funnel any water or moisture collected into the WaterGuard® Below-Floor Drain. WaterGuard® was installed below the floor to capture groundwater seepage and help with the hydrostatic pressure. Both of these systems direct the water collected into the SuperSump® Premier Sump Pump System. By correctly assessing the issue our team was able to provide a permanent waterproofing solution for our customer.

Carbon Armour Installed for New Homeowners, Lakefield, ON

In Lakefield, Ontario, a pair of new homeowners had noticed their sump pump system going off frequently. The irritable sound had called for an investigation where they found that their block foundations were cracking and about to lean inward. They called Clarke Basement Systems right away to have this problem solved before matters got worse. Our System Design Specialist, Ryan Hanlon, visited the home for a further look. He diagnosed the issue as from all the constant pressure from the soil during the wet and thawing months, which aggravated the foundation, causing it to crack. His solution was to have our team install Carbon Armour. This material is a carbon fiber roll that, when placed on the cracked block foundation and covered with a mixed resin, hardens stronger than metal. Our installation Foreman, Alan Murphy, and Specialist, Andrew Latour, started the work. The results were impressive; even the handyman husband was blown away.
