Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Risk of Mould in Musty Basement in Toronto, Ontario

Safety is one of the most important factors when it comes to your home. We do what we can to maintain everything ourselves, but sometimes we need to call the experts. In Toronto, Ontario, a customer reached out to Clarke Basement Systems to deal with his damp and musty basement. His grandparents owned the house, but he moved in and wanted to ensure the basement was safe and free of mould. System Design Specialist Chris Tunney met with the customer and inspected the home. Chris discovered how water was getting in the space and designed a unique system to waterproof the basement.  Foreman Lucio Flores and his crew, Installation Specialists Dymytro Bohatyrov and Russel VanderMeulen, started by digging a trench around the basement perimeter for our WaterGuard® Drain System. Next, the walls were encapsulated with CleanSpace® Vapour Barrier.  A SuperSump® Sump Pump was added to the system to take water out of the basement. Finally, an IceGuard® Discharge Line completed the system – it prevents backups caused by freezing temperatures providing even more peace of mind. The customer knew hard work had to be done for his basement to stay dry. He’s glad he chose a company that went above and beyond. He’s looking forward to finishing his basement and having more living space.
