Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: Custom Window Wells in Kleinburg, ON
Challenge
The homeowner wanted to replace his original basement windows with larger ones. Their goal was to enable more light into the basement. The yard was landscaped so excavating with a machine was not an option.
Solution
A vacuum truck was used to excavate. The builders windows were removed and the poured concrete wall was saw cut to the new window size. As the windows were to extend below grade vertical drainage to the weeping tile was installed. The window wells were constructed with 6x6 pressure treated lumber and a custom grate was fitted for safety to prevent falling into them.
