Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: Check the Perimiter
Challenge
An abundance of basement moisture issues stems from the perimeter of the space. Therefore, it's always good to source the point of entry (or entries) to make sure you waterproof the correct spots. In this case, our clients in Caledon Village, Ontario, were experiencing water seepage along the whole perimeter of the basement. The homeowner was concerned that the water from the floor-wall joint would remain wet and cause mold to form. They called Clarke Basement Systems immediately, and our team arrived a few days later.
Solution
Arriving at the scene, project manager Ben Wallis broke down the installation steps and how long the installation would take. With it only being a two-day job, three of our systems were set up by installation foreman Dave Jackson: Waterguard®, Thermal Wall Membrane, SuperSump®, and a FloodRing with the WaterGuard® and Membrane, work hand in hand to keep the water tucked away and funneling down to drainage systems on the floor. A system was placed around the perimeter to redirect water down to the SuperSump® that was getting installed. Our Sump Pump system is the hub that holds all the water and moves it away from home, leaving it dry.
Our clients were ecstatic that the basement was wholly waterproofed and now know there will be no potential water seepage. No more fighting with the groundwater! The flooring was installed to keep the water heater from leaking to ensure things are even more secured.
