Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: Mind the Crack
Challenge
A customer in Unionville had the unfortunate experience of having an unsightly, sizeable gaping crack in the wall of their home's foundation. This customer had previous work done by Clarke Basement Systems in a different area of their home. As a result, they knew they could trust their unmatched customer service, cleanliness, experience and professionalism.
Not only are foundation cracks an eyesore, but they also have the potential to evolve into a much worse, dangerous and costly issue for your home in the future. These giant cracks can occasionally and unpredictably seep water into a home that attracts critters, creepy crawlies and a handful of nightmare bacteria. These large cracks can also pose air quality issues in your home, with large drafts coming through and messing up your home's HVAC capabilities, resulting in cold winter nights and hot summer days.
The customer needed peace of mind that the personal belongings he was storing in his basement would stay free of water damage, potential mould and bugs.
Solution
System Design Specialist Chris Luke suggested Clarke Basement System's unique and patented FlexiSpan® technology to seal the crack. Keeping all potential harmful elements out of the customer's basement. FlexiSpan® although like the traditional epoxy injection method to fill gaps, FlexiSpan® uses a combination of two different technologies that work together to create an even more robust long-term solution that lasts for decades. FlexiSpan® uses both a polyurethane polymer sealant to seal off the crack and then utilizes a minimal, almost invisible drainage system to keep any moisture that may seep in to be drained and pumped out of the basement.
After Clarke Basement System's service, the result was a delighted customer, a dry basement and best of all, years of peace of mind knowing that not only his floor but his belongings will stay dry.
