Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: Old, Failing Sump Pump Leads to Spring Flood in Bobcaygeon, Ontario
Challenge
When you have equipment in place to protect your home from the threat of nature, you expect everything to work properly. The last thing you want to deal with is a flooded basement thanks to a failing sump system.
A customer in Bobcaygeon, Ontario, was dealing with flooding during the spring thaw every year. For a few days his sump pump would be running at max capacity, but water still made its way into the basement. Frustrated and ready for an upgrade he decided to reach out to Clarke Basement Systems.
Solution
System Design Specialist Chris Luke met with the customer and inspected the house. Chris recommended a TwinPump® System for added protection, and an IceGuard® Discharge Line to prevent any issues caused by freezing.
Foreman Lucio Flores started by removing the old sump pump and installing our liner. He installed two motors in the liner before pouring new concrete around the system. For added peace of mind, Lucio added an IceGuard® Discharge Line, which includes a built-in overflow to prevent any backups caused by freezing in the line.
The customer no longer has to stress every time Spring comes around. He loves the improved look with the new sump pump, and appreciates the hard work form the entire team.
