Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: Customer Tired of Dealing with the Risk of Mould in Richmond Hill, Ontario
Challenge
Having something hanging over your head can take a toll after a while. The thought never entirely fades away, and you're left with the anxiety of "what-if?"
A customer in Richmond Hill, Ontario, was tired of coming up with different what-if scenarios about his basement. Water was seeping up through the floor/wall joint, and he knew it was a matter of time before mould would start to form. He couldn't use the space for storage, and it was too wet to invest in finishing it, so he decided to call Clarke Basement Systems.
System Design Specialist Ben Wallis met with the customer and completed a thorough inspection of the basement. The customer showed Ben where he typically found water, and Ben designed a system to keep the entire space dry.
Solution
Foreman Dave Jackson and his crew, Installation Specialists Alan Murphy and Bryan Richards, started by digging a small ditch around the floor/wall joint's perimeter. This trench is where our WaterGuard® Drain System was installed, guiding water to the sump system. The customer wanted additional peace of mind, so he paired his new SuperSump® Pump with an UltraSump® Battery Backup. The last step was encapsulating the walls to seal out moisture and brighten up the basement.
The customer is happy that he doesn't have to always worry about his home and basement for the first time in years.
