Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: New Addition Leaks Water into Basement in Uxbridge, Ontario
Challenge
Sometimes we need a little more space: an extra storage linen closet, additional cupboards, or even an entirely new addition to a house.
Customers in Uxbridge, Ontario, own a beautiful home with an addition. They love the extra space and increased home value, but recently the connection between the two parts of the house was leaking. They wanted to finish the basement but were skeptical due to the water, so they called Clarke Basement Systems for an inspection.
System Design Specialist Chris Luke met with the homeowners and inspected the house. He discovered where water was coming in and designed a system to give them a dry basement.
Solution
Since water was entering the middle of the floor rather than the floor/wall joint, Chris designed the system to run laterally throughout the level. Foreman Dave Jackson excavated a section of the floor before laying down our WaterGuard® Drain System, where the water is drained back into the groundwater.
With their basement finally dry, the homeowners can’t wait to finish the space and are happy to do so knowing they’re protected.
