Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: Change in Landscape Floods New Home in Newmarket, Ontario
Challenge
A home with a nice view is alone of its most attractive features. We all love walking out the back door and seeing a beautiful landscape, but sometimes this type of environment can cause problems for your home.
A customer in Newmarket, Ontario, had a three-year-old home that sits right next to a ravine. She noticed water was leaking into her basement more and more every time it rained and figured it was due to a recent change in the landscape surrounding her home.
Solution
After reaching out to Clarke Basement Systems and setting up a free inspection, System Design Specialist Dean Merendino discovered that the water table had risen. This caused her basement to flood from beneath the foundation floor. Dean designed a unique system to keep the basement dry, and a date was set for the repair.
Foreman Dave Jackson and his crew, Installation Specialists Alan Murphy and Brandon Richards, started by installing our WaterGuard® Drain System laterally throughout the basement. They connected the drain to a TripleSafe® Sump Pump with an UltraSump® Battery Backup and added an IceGuard® Discharge.
The homeowner is thrilled with the finished work. She can finally start using her basement again and was “very impressed” with Dave, his crew, and Dean.
