Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: Form Tie Hole Floods Basement in Peterborough, Ontario
Challenge
Finding water in your basement is a stressful time. You don’t know where it’s coming from, you don’t know what damage it’s done, and you don’t know how much it will cost to repair.
A customer in Peterborough, Ontario, had this exact problem. They called us and were understandably very concerned about their home’s well-being. We assured them we could repair the issue and we would have an inspector go out to them as soon as possible.
Solution
System Design Specialist Chris Luke met with the customer and inspected his basement. He discovered a crack in the foundation and explained to the customer how form-tie holes used for pouring foundations are prone to leaking.
Foreman Mark Dougherty worked hard installing our industry-leading FlexiSpan® Crack Repair System. He injected polymer into the crack, providing a lasting seal. He then installed a drain overtop of the crack in case it does leak and fed that into an in-floor drain.
The customer is thrilled that we repaired his basement. He no longer needs to worry about water seepage and has peace of mind with a warranty.
