Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: Seeping Water Floods New Homeowners' Basement in Port McNicoll, Ontario
Challenge
Buying a house is an exciting time, but it comes with its fair share of stress. Arranging the finances, moving all of your belongings, and ensuring the house is safe are all important and tasking steps. Even if we prepare and make sure everything’s in working order, sometimes there are things you don’t find out about until you’re already moved in.
A family in Port McNicoll, Ontario, had just moved into a new house when they quickly discovered a water seepage issue. They wanted the basement to be dry and for it to stay dry. We had done work for them a year earlier at their previous home, so they reached back out to System Design Specialist Robert Langton.
Solution
Robert met them at their new home and inspected the basement. He spent time learning about their situation and worked with the customers to design a system to suit their needs.
Foreman Jose Martinez and his crew installed our WaterGuard® Drain System. WaterGuard® goes along the perimeter where the floor and wall meet to catch any seeping water.
Robert designed the system to include our TripleSafe® Sump Pump and UltraSump® Battery Backup. WaterGuard® is designed to work directly with these products. Our TripleSafe® is built with a backup pump and battery to keep the system operating during a power outage. Lastly, Jose installed an IceGuard® Discharge Line to prevent any backups due to freezing.
The customers are happy that their new home is waterproofed. Their basement will stay dry for years to come, and they have the peace of mind knowing their house is protected.
