Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: Solution to a Unhealthy Basement, Angus, ON
Challenge
A home in Angus, Ontario, had water coming through the floor wall joints. This caused the basement to be wet in multiple locations every time it rained and when the snow melted. This problem had been going on for a while, causing discoloration to the wood framing and wall cladding. The homeowner knew that the wet basement was unhealthy and knew it was not going to get better on its own. It was causing them stress, discomfort, and they were spending too much time worrying about the problem. It was time to do something about it, so that they could enjoy the space without worries or stress.
Solution
The customer called Clarke Basement Systems, and spoke to Robert Malcomson, who explained the solution our company came up with to waterproof the home. Luke Haverkort and the team came in and installed a TripleSafe Sump Pump, WaterGuard and Thermaldry R20 insulation.
The ThermalDry R20 Insulation is installed on walls, collects water & moisture, and directs it into the WaterGuard. It also allows the space to be more comfortable in the winter months, keeping the heat inside the home. The WaterGuard catches any water entry and relieving pressure from beneath the floor. The TripleSafe catches and controls the volume of water collected and ejects it out, away from the home.
The Customer is very happy and now has peace of mind knowing their basement is protected from ground water seepage for the lifetime of the home. The engineered Triplesafe system with battery backup will protect them from power failures and emergencies.
