Challenge
This customer had a full perimeter of groundwater seepage due to a failed footing drain. The customer had listed the house for sale previous to getting the work done to fix it, and lost two separate offers because of the problem. The scope of work was discussed with the customer for both interior and exterior solutions. With the interior repair, it is permanent and the warranty dictates that the customer will never have water seepage from the walls and the floor for the lifetime of the home. This is a fully transferable warranty for every subsequent homeowner. With any exterior repair, the warranty of 25 years dictates that the water will not come through the walls.
Solution
The customer decided to waterproof the interior of the home. One of our senior foremen, Luke Havercourt, and his crew installed a full perimeter of WaterGuard, ThermalDry wall membrane and a sump pump. This way, the whole basement could be kept dry permanently. The ThermalDry wall membrane keeps water and wall moisture out of the basement and directs it to the Watergaurd. The Watergaurd pushes any water seepage to the sump pump and out of the home, so that the basement stays healthy and dry.
The customer was very satisfied that they could sell the house without losing the offers. The house has since sold, Well above asking price.
