Flooded Lower Level in Midland, ON

A crawl space is only as good as it is dry. If it's constantly flooded or damp, it makes the space unusable and leaves you with a wet cavern beneath your home that no one wants to go in.

In Midland, Ontario, a customer reached out after living in their home for less than two months. They had never gone down into the basement and crawl space due to the high moisture level and "creepy" vibe the customer described. The basement had a crawl space addition, and both areas needed waterproofing.

The customer reached out to Clarke Basement Systems and met with System Design Specialist Robert Langton. Robert inspected the space and recommended a complete encapsulation and drain system.

Foreman Jose Martinez and his crew, Installation Specialists Trevor Bowman and Dustin Biggs, started by installing our WaterGuard® Drain System around both spaces' entire perimeter. This drain was run to a SmartDrain® to help the water disperse back into the ground supply, and the walls were encapsulated with CleanSpace® Vapour Barrier, sealing out moisture. Lastly, an Aprilaire® Dehumidifier was installed to keep the relative humidity below a healthy 55%.
