Two Form-Tie Holes Soak Basement in Uxbridge, Ontario

A finished basement is an excellent asset for a home, but when the carpeted area is always getting wet, it can ruin it all.

A customer in Uxbridge, Ontario, was tired of dealing with wet carpets and drywall whenever there was heavy rain. He couldn’t see where the water was coming in but knew the general area. He decided to best option was to call Clarke Basement Systems.

System Design Specialist Chris Luke met with the homeowner and inspected his basement. Chris determined that two form-tie holes were leaking behind the drywall. Chris explained how our FlexiSpan® Crack Repair System uses polyurethane to seal the crack from the inside out. The customer was happy to hear about the solution, and a date was booked for the repair.

Foreman Mark Dougherty started by injecting sealant directly into the crack. Additional sealant was used for the exterior, and an in-floor drain was installed for added peace of mind. Mark repeated the same process with the other crack.

The client is happy that he doesn’t need to wonder where water is coming from anymore. He knows the carpet, drywall and entire basement are fully protected and waterproofed.
