Frustrated Homeowner Ready to Give Up Before Calling Us in Thornton, Ontario

Walking down to your beautifully finished basement and finding water all over the floor can leave you frustrated.

A customer in Thornton, Ontario, called Clarke Basement Systems after dealing with water in her basement. Every time it rained, or there was a thaw, her floor was flooded, and she was almost to the point of finding a new house.

System Design Specialist Robert Langton met with the homeowner and explained how we could waterproof her basement. She was happy to hear she could stay in her current home, and a date was set for the installation. 

Foreman Dave Jackson and his crew installed our WaterGuard® Drain System around the basement perimeter. This drain sits directly on the floor/wall joint and catches any water coming up from the ground. We encapsulated the walls with CleanSpace® Vapour Barrier to stop moisture seepage and feed water down to the drain. This entire system feeds to a TripleSafe® Sump Pump, where water is expelled out of the home through an IceGuard® Discharge Line. Our TripleSafe® System comes with an UltraSump® Battery Backup, and our IceGuard® System keeps water flowing even during freezing temperatures. Lastly, we controlled the air quality with an Aprilaire® Dehumidifier.

The customer is delighted that she feels comfortable in her own home again. She’s looking forward to many more years and plans on refinishing her basement.
