Damp Cold Room Unusable in Oshawa, Ontario

Cold rooms are a unique little space. Not every home has one, and they’re typically made of concrete. These rooms are different than a typical storage room, and they tend to be susceptible to cooler temperatures and moisture. 

A customer in Oshawa, Ontario, had a wet and stinky cold room. He wanted to start using the space, but the condition it was in made it hard to store anything. The homeowner thought they were stuck with a barely usable room, but figured they’d call Clarke Basement Systems anyway. 

After meeting with System Design Specialist Chris Luke, the homeowner was happy they reached out. Chris showed them our Cold Room Encapsulation System and a date was set for the repair.

Foreman Don Clarke encapsulated the room using CleanSpace® Vapour Barrier to stop water from seeping in through the walls. A drainage panel was added to the ceiling, and our WaterGuard® Drain System was installed around the perimeter.

The customer is happy to finally have a usable storage room. They love how bright the space looks, and were impressed with the service from Chris and Don.
