Crumbling Foundation Floods Basement in Keswick, Ontario

There are many ways water can get into a home’s basement. We’ve seen everything you can imagine and then some, but one of the most typical situations is water seeping through the foundation.

A customer in Keswick, Ontario, had recently moved into an older home. The house was originally a cottage and was renovated into a home, where she was looking forward to many years. She knew a water issue was present in the basement, but the failing foundation made the problems worse. She was even concerned about the home’s integrity and longevity.

The customer met with our System Design Specialist. He inspected the home and designed a system to eliminate any water and repair the foundation.

Foremen Jose Martinez and Don Clarke, along with Installation Specialist Trevor Bowman, stabilized the foundation with PowerBraces® and GeoLock® Wall Anchors before moving onto the waterproofing system. The basement was encapsulated with ThermalDry® Wall Membrane, and a WaterGuard® Drain System was installed around the perimeter. An IceGuard® Discharge Line was installed to keep water out of the basement even during freezing temperatures, and the entire system runs through a TripleSafe® Sump Pump System.

The customer is looking forward to many years of a safe, dry home, and she appreciates the work done by the Clarke Basement Systems team.
