Leaking Front Window Turns Soaks Basement in Cookstown, Ontario

When dealing with a stressful situation, lightening the mood can be helpful. Sometimes we make fun of the situation we're in, or we give something a quirky name.

A couple in Cookstown, Ontario, was dealing with a water seepage issue below their front window. The water was preventing them from utilizing their basement, and they had started referring to it as the "exterior fishbowl." They dreamed of finishing their basement but wanted to get rid of the fishbowl first.

They decided to reach out to Clarke Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Chris Luke met the couple at their home and inspected the space.  He designed a system to keep their basement dry and give them the means to finish the room with confidence.

Foreman Jose Martinez dug a trench around the basement's perimeter and installed our WaterGuard® Drain System. The customers already had a sump system in place, so Jose connected the drain to the system. The basement encapsulated with CleanSpace® to stop moisture at the walls, and a WellDuct® was installed beneath the window. 

The homeowners can't wait to finish their basement finally. They're happy with the work done by our team and no longer have an exterior fishbowl.
