Wet Basement Threatens Cottage in Minden Hills, Ontario

Summertime and cottages go hand in hand. If we’re not going to our family cottage, we’re likely bugging a friend to go to theirs.

A customer in Minden Hills, Ontario, has a beautiful cottage that sits right on the lake. He noticed water was seeping into his basement, and he was growing concerned about the possibility of mould growth.

System Design Specialist Robert Langton travelled to the cottage to investigate the building. He discovered water was seeping in from the roadside wall, so he designed a waterproofing system with that in mind.

Foreman Dave Jackson and his team worked hard installing the system. A full perimeter of WaterGuard® was installed to catch any water and drain it to the brand new SuperSump®. Insulation was placed on the walls for extra warmth in the winter, and an Aprilaire® Dehumidifier was used to control the high humidity levels.

The customer is thrilled with the new sump pump system. His family and he can go to and from the cottage each week without the worry of water entering their basement and creating mould.
