Bowing Foundation Walls Threaten Elderly Parents in Thornbury, Ontario

As we grow older, we take on more of a caretaker role with our ageing parents. Whether it’s cutting the grass or helping to make dinner, we’re there for them like they were there for us. Some need more help than others, but it’s the least we can do after a lifetime of support.

For a customer in Thornbury, Ontario, taking care of her elderly parents meant reaching out to Clarke Basement Systems. Her parent’s home had cracks throughout the foundation wall, and some spots were bowing close to three inches. 

System Design Specialist Robert Langton met with the customer and inspected her parent’s home. They were having work done on the exterior foundation, but couldn’t backfill until we supported the foundation from the inside. 

Foreman Jose Martinez worked hard to fix the bowing walls. He used CarbonArmor® Vertical Wall Straps, which are ten times stronger than steel. The straps are flexible and adhesive, conforming and sticking to the foundation wall securely. They’re then bracketed to the floor and permanently stabilize and straighten the foundation walls.

The customer is thrilled that her parent’s home is safe. They can continue to live in their home for many years, and do so with a proven, warrantied foundation solution.
