Replaced Sump Pump to Save Flooded Basement in Belle Ewart, ON

A home in Belle Ewart, Ontario, had flooding in the basement. The exterior weeping tile had failed due to clogging from an iron ochre formation. Iron ochre forms when iron in soil oxidizes, coming into contact with water. This problem caused the drainage system outside the home to fail and allowing water to drain into the basement. Over time the basement was becoming more and more damaged due to flooding. The homeowner could no longer store personal items, and the basement was becoming mouldy.

The customer called Clarke Basement System and spoke to Ron Monk who explained the process we would do to fix the problem. Rob Trevisan and the team came in and installed a MoistureLoc Dehumidifier to direct any water and moisture into the newly installed WaterGuard® IOS sub-floor perimeter drainage system. The WaterGuard® then pushes any access water into the freshly established Sump pump where is it then pushed out the IceGuard® and away from the house. The sump pump was introduced to replace the old sump pump that was no longer doing the job of keeping the basement dry.

The customer was delighted that they were able to waterproof their basement right and have the peace of mind that their basement would no longer flood. The homeowner was also pleased with our 25-year dry basement nationally backed warranty against groundwater seepage.
