Our Overall Service

The company has been very good about arranging appointments efficiently for both the estimate and the work done. The work was done with great attention to detail.

Call Representative

I was given an appointment date an my first phone call and talked to a rep of the company and not an answering machine.

Sales Process

Rob was polite and patient. I asked him many questions, both at the appointment and in follow up emails and he was very quick and knowledgeable in his replies.

Our Installation Crew

Lucio and Adam were very meticulous in their installation, as it took quite an effort to install the liner with water constantly coming in. They kept at it, to bring everything level, in three attempts. I was in the basement most of the time, as this has been a learning curve for me with sumps and seepage and I wanted to see for myself the water levels under the floor, why they were doing whatever they were doing, etc., and they were very good about answering questions and directing me as to what needed to be done. They installed mats to walk on and cleaned as they went. It took the whole day, as this was a difficult project, but they persevered and were unfailingly polite.

The Cleanup Process

At the end of the day, Lucio and Adam cleaned up everything that had been disturbed and left a very professionally installed sump system, which actually looks more streamlined than it had before. They corrected the angle of the original water dispersal pipe to make it more in keeping with the new pipe and the outside work looks very compact and neat. The system is working well, with a quieter tone and the dispersed water comes out quickly.

What made you choose our company:

I looked online at several basement waterproofing companies and read reviews etc. I left messages at several local companies, describing my dilemma, and only got a callback from one. Clarke answered my first phone call. I was hesitant because this wasn't what I would call a local company, but I felt the company would not be in the position it was in if customers were dissatisfied. The one local company rep who answered came over and outlined what he felt was the issue and what to do about it. He was not in the business of installing sump pumps, but he did tell me how he would go about rectifying my surface water problem. It was not what I wanted to hear, but he was honest with me, which I liked. He had 'no skin in the game', as he was retiring and would not be able to do the work, so he said what I should look for and ask about from a basement repair company. Clarke's rep, Rob, told me essentially what I had already been told and the prices that I would pay for the repairs were comparable to what I had been told they should be. I also looked online at other sites posted by people who had had work done for problems such as mine, and found that the Triple Pump System was recommended by many. Not all, some going with other pumps, but many. Some were do-it-yourself people and others not. I also talked with neighbours who had had basement issues and how they resolved them. I felt the decision to go with Clarke was a wise move. It is an expensive proposition, but I'd rather spend the money and have it done correctly. I know people who have spent money on basement repairs and then have had to have the repairs fixed. I think that Clarke will be attentive to any concerns I may have in the future, because it is a big company and values a positive referral.
