Photo Album: Damp And Cracked Basement in Toronto, ON

Album Description

This client living in Toronto, Ontario was concerned with the current state of their basement. An area in the basement displayed issues of groundwater seepage, as the foundation of the home had begun to crack and rot. The foundation had also shown signs of mold growing along the walls and sub-floor. The homeowner was bothered by the idea that the water might leak into other parts of the basement, causing further damage.

Clarke Basement Systems deiced to install a WaterGuard® Sub-Floor Perimeter Drainage Systems, a WaterGuard® Port, ThermalDry Wall Membrane, a SuperSump®, an UltraSump® System. The project started by removing the rotted sub-floor and broken concrete. The ThermalDry Wall Membrane was placed over the basement walls to defend against any condensation. The WaterGuard® was laid into place along the perimeter of the area and a drainage border was created with clear stone. A SuperSump®/UltraSump® System was installed and attached to the WaterGuard® System in order to provide the water a passage to be pumped outside the home.

The client was happy that the systems installed were safe and efficient. The basement is now free of mold and can be used as a useful space.
