Our 2019 Company Christmas Party
‘Twas the night before… wait a minute; it’s not Christmas yet! But, now that it is December and we’re getting close, I guess it’s okay to talk about it. In the name of all things festive, we recently held our annual company Christmas party!
We’ve done wine tasting, we’ve had a house party, and this year we changed things up with dinner and a show at a place you’d least expect: a barn!
Who would eat dinner in a barn, let alone watch an entire performance, you might ask? Well, our team would, and this was no ordinary barn! We went to the Herongate Barn Theatre, which started as a dairy farm over 100 years ago. From 1970 to 1975 the barn was used for auctions before being turned into a theatre and dining hall in 1975.
They run a variety of shows throughout the year and offer a buffet dinner to enjoy beforehand. We indulged ourselves with roast beef, cranberry chicken, more salads than you can name, a few (or many) delicious desserts, and of course, a couple of drinks to wash everything down. 
After dinner, we headed upstairs and prepared ourselves for a British comedy called It Runs in the Family. The show, created by Ray Cooney in the late 80s, revolves around a doctor who finds out he has an illegitimate 18-year-old son on the most important day of his career. Nothing could go wrong, right?
I won’t share too many details (you’ll have to find that out for yourself), but let’s just say things get a little hectic as truths are revealed, and hilarity ensues.
We finished the night with our bellies full, smiles on our faces, and grateful for another successful year. We’re looking forward to the holidays with our loved ones, but enjoy sharing in the festivities with our work family too. So, on behalf of our team, have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
