The Munchster Mash Halloween Potluck

It’s that time of year again. You know, the awkward time between sunshine and Christmas. When we still have our summer gear on deck, but the threat of snow grows larger every day, and kids are looking forward to one thing: Halloween, and the sweet indulgence that comes with it.

Well, this year, Halloween wasn’t just for the kids! Here at Clarke Basement Systems, we wanted our own reason to indulge, and even though we’ll find a reason no matter what time of year it is, we figured we’d use Halloween as our excuse this time.

Our second food spread for our Halloween potluck

All the hungry ‘munchsters’ in the office came together in the name of food and all things scary as we held our first-ever Halloween Potluck Lunch! We had a spread of food spanning across the office, making everybody feel like a zombie in a butcher shop by the time 1 pm came around.

There were mummified jalapenos and pigs in blankets, a ratloaf crawling over the table, pumpkins spewing cheese and spinach dip, brain salad, and much, much more! There was so much food that the potluck became a two-day event, taking place on both the 30th and 31st.

So, as the children went off trick or treating in the rain, we sat comfortably in our warm, dry homes knowing full well we’d already eaten our fair share of Halloween treats, and we would do it again when we raid the candy bowl later that night.

Now that it’s November, our stomachs have become empty once again, ready for the next batch of seasonal overeating…. Is it Christmas yet?
