This homeowner had a wet basement every spring and was tired of the water. We installed a SuperSump® Premier Sump Pump System in the basement.
This cottage homeowner had concerns for her crawlspace. The area was causing moisture problems through the home and posed a potential threat for mould to grow. She was planning to sell the home, but with moisture issues, this was hard to do. It's not news- no one wants a wet crawlspace problem in their home!
After assessing the issue, recommended a full encapsulation of the area. We arrived on the site and cleaned the crawlspace in order to encapsulate the area with our CleanSpace® crawlspace solution.
Now the area is clean and can stay dry. This cottage can now be placed for sale!
Looking for protection from a potential sump failure and a flooded basement this Mississauga, ON homeowner, contacted us. They wanted their basement to be kept dry all the time with no more worries about it in the future. We installed our TripleSafe™ Complete Sump Pump System with three levels of protection for the basement.
Clarke Basement Systems recommended to our customer in Stayner, ON that they have a full encapsulation and add a MositureLoc Dehumidifier with a SmartSump™Crawl Space Sump Pump System. The dehumidifier keeps the crawlspace dry and conditioned while the sump system collects the groundwater and pumps it outside. The crawl space is now clean, dry, and comfortable.
This customer was looking to finish his basement. His concern was his sump system. We installed our TripleSafe™ Complete Sump System to solve his failing pump problem.
A customer wanted extra protection from water damage and flooding. A WaterGuard® Below-Floor Drain was installed around the hot water tank leaving the basement neat and dry.
Walking down to your beautifully finished basement and finding water all over the floor can leave you frustrated.
A customer in Thornton, Ontario, called Clarke Basement Systems after dealing with water in her basement. Every time it rained, or there was a thaw, her floor was flooded, and she was almost to the point of finding a new house.
System Design Specialist Robert Langton met with the homeowner and explained how we could waterproof her basement. She was happy to hear she could stay in her current home, and a date was set for the installation.
Foreman Dave Jackson and his crew installed our WaterGuard® Drain System around the basement perimeter. This drain sits directly on the floor/wall joint and catches any water coming up from the ground. We encapsulated the walls with CleanSpace® Vapour Barrier to stop moisture seepage and feed water down to the drain. This entire system feeds to a TripleSafe® Sump Pump, where water is expelled out of the home through an IceGuard® Discharge Line. Our TripleSafe® System comes with an UltraSump® Battery Backup, and our IceGuard® System keeps water flowing even during freezing temperatures. Lastly, we controlled the air quality with an Aprilaire® Dehumidifier.
The customer is delighted that she feels comfortable in her own home again. She’s looking forward to many more years and plans on refinishing her basement.
A customer had a messy, smelly crawl space that we converted to a clean and healthy environment using our CleanSpace® crawl space vapour barrier system.
A home in New Lowel, Ontario, had constant water seeping into the basement. The baseboards were becoming damaged, and the homeowner had to tear half the wall out and keep fans blowing on the area to attempt to keep it dry.
The customer called Clarke Basement Systems to find a permanent solution to the problem. Rob Langton explained everything. Jose Martinez and the team came in and installed CleanSpace® wall membrane on the wall to capture any moisture and water and direct it into the newly established WaterGuard® Below-Floor Drain around the perimeter of the basement. It will lead the water into the freshly installed TripleSafe™Complete Sump Pump System that replaced the old sump pump that was no longer doing the job.
The customer is satisfied knowing the basement will be dry and healthy, and they don't have to waste time trying to find ways of temporarily fixing it. This space now can be used and renovated in the future.
One Midhurst, ON homeowner, spent a week last year trying to keep his basement dry because of a power outage which resulted from an ice storm. We went ahead and install the TripleSafe™ Complete Sump Pump System for maximum protection.
A homeowner in Barrie, Ontario, was dealing with minor water intrusion in their basement. In the spring thaw and very heavy rains the basement would leak and the carpets would get wet. They contacted Clarke Basement Systems to fix the water problems. We came in and installed a SuperSump to manage the water that was collecting. The two pictures posted are a before showing the SuperSump before the concrete was poured and the second was after it was poured. Now the home will stay dry during heavy rain and spring thaw.
A customer in Barrie, Ontario, was looking for a minimal fix for their water seepage issue coming from three block walls causing damage to the basement. They wanted a quick solution so that they could finalize their upcoming renovation project.
Rob Langton, System Design Specialist, came up with a 2-part solution. Jose and his crew began by installing:
WaterGuard® Drainage System
ThermalDry® Wall Membrane
Our customer was delighted with the work Jose and his team had done. They also insisted on calling us back to complete the basement when they had their renovation plan set.
This home in Rama, Ontario needed to be waterproofed so that they could sell it. We installed the TripleSafe™ Complete Sump Pump System giving the home three levels of protection. We replaced the old sump and discharge lines for the TripleSafe that also includes two IceGuard® Discharge Line Systems on the outside of the wall to protect the pumps from burning up or breaking due to the cold. The home now has a clean, compacted, updated look.
A home in Rama, Ontario, was having water issues. The customer called Clarke Basement Systems to waterproof the basement so that it would be able to be sold. There were obstacles in the basement our team had to work around in order to get the best waterproofing results. We installed a TrenchDrain™ around the hot water tank to protect the basement in case the hot water tank were to ever leak. We were careful and successful with the installation and the customer was very happy.
A homeowner reached out to our company to repair their basement. Our team went to the home and evaluated the situation. After reviewing the plan with the owner, the foremen installed a full-perimeter drainage system. Before any work was started on the basement they realized that the cottage needed a lot more work. The foundation in the basement had begun to shift causing the back wall to bow inward and the adjacent floor to sink in. The wall had shifted one and a half inches and the floor had sunk approximately 6 inches below the initial surface.
The groundwater seepage needed to be controlled, along with reducing the amount of moisture settling onto the floor. They needed to permanently stabilize the foundation wall and level out the floor. In order to control the groundwater seepage, a WaterGuard® and SuperSump® System was installed in the home. The team also installed a ThermalDry® Wall Membrane along the foundation of the basement in order to prevent any future moisture or leaks from entering and direct the water into the WaterGuard® System. To repair the rear bowing wall, a PowerBrace™ was fastened to the foundation which readjusts its position. The project was finished by injecting a PolyLevel® Foam underneath the sunken slab that allows the foam to bring it to the appropriate height and level.
The homeowner appreciated the team’s hard work and took the time out of his day to write an e-mail to the company and crew thanking them for the wonderful work they had done. The customer was then able to continue on with finishing his basement without any worrying about future problems.
A basement in Midhurst, Ontario, had cracks in the concrete foundation. The homeowner contacted Clarke Basement Systems to fix the crack so that there would be no water seepage in the basement. We came in and covered the entire crack with FlexiSpan® Foundation Crack Repair System so that it stays bonded with wall movement, and seals the crack permanently. Giving the customer piece of mind that it will stay dry and not crack again over time. We added our FlowGuard® Thin Floor Drain System so that the water does not collect on the basement floor. Lastly we repaired the floor by pouring new concrete, giving the customer full protection from water leakage.
Purchasing a new home is exciting. Whether it’s a brand-new townhouse in the city or a vintage 100-year-old farmhouse, it’s a huge milestone. We can’t wait to move in and make the place our own, but sometimes some issues need to be tackled before settling in.
A customer in Neustadt, Ontario, had just purchased a home built in the 1970s. There was an original basement and an additional crawl space, with both concrete and dirt floors. The customer was moving into the new home soon but wanted to have his new home waterproofed first. After speaking with our team at the Fall Cottage Life Show, he decided to reach out to us and set up a free inspection.
System Design Specialist Robert Langton inspected the customer’s new home. The customer wanted the entire basement and crawl space to be dry, so Robert designed a system to make the customer’s wishes come true.
Foreman Lucio Flores and his crew installed several waterproofing products that work together to keep the space dry. The entire perimeter was excavated, and a WaterGuard® Drain System was installed to collect any water. Since part of the crawl space has a dirt floor, Lucio laid down CleanSpace® Drainage Matting before encapsulating the entire area with CleanSpace® Vapour Barrier. Crawl spaces often deal with high humidity, so the customer also chose an Aprilaire MoistureLoc® Dehumidifier.
To keep the water moving out of the home, a TripleSafe® Sump Pump was installed along with an UltraSump® Battery Backup. As an extra measure, we also installed a SmartDrain® in the crawl space and SilverGlo™ Window Insulation to help save energy. Finally, an IceGuard® Discharge Line was put in place to prevent a backup from freezing.
The customer is thrilled that his new home is dry. He can’t wait to move in and make the place his own, and he can do so without worrying about a basement flood!
After constant water leakage in a basement in Orillia, our team installed two IceGuard® Discharge Lines on the outside of the home. This will prevent the discharge lines from freezing while it pumps the water out and away from the home.
A home in Orillia, Ontario had a leaking wall, so we installed a WaterGuard® Below-Floor Drain system around the perimeter to capture any leakage. We also installed a ThermalDry® Vapour Barrier to direct any moisture or seepage into the WaterGuard. Now the home has a dry basement with a lifetime warranty.
A home in Wasaga Beach, Ontario, had waterproofing issues that caused the owner to call Clarke Basement Systems. During the inspection, Robert Langton, our inspector, found that the corner of the house had sunk.
Shane, Luke, and the team replaced the old sump pump to protect the inside of the home. Then, to fix the sinking area of the house, they installed PushPiers against the walls after excavating with a hydro-vac truck. This solution permanently stabilized and lifted the foundation.
The customer is happy knowing we could fix the problems they did not think they had. This system protects the basement from flooding and stabilizes the home. They have peace of mind and can maintain the value of the house for future resale value.
A home in Collingwood, Ontario, had an old sump pump in the basement that was outdated. The homeowner was worried that it would not do the job if the basement flooded. The pipes leading to the outside of the home had a possibility of freezing, causing back up to the pump and flooding the basement.
The customer called Clarke Basement Systems, and Robert Langton explained the best products and the process to install them. Luke Haverkort and the team introduced a TripleSafe™ Sump Pump, two IceGuards® Discharge Line System and an Aprilaire Dehumidifier. They replaced the old sump pump with the TripleSafe™ to ensure there are three levels of protection. The IceGuards® were installed to replace the old pipes to ensure there would not be any freezing.
The customer is delighted with the great products we used, that allowed peace of mind that the basement wouldn't flood and the pipes won't freeze.
Purchasing a home is a huge purchase, and you hope once you move in, everything will be smooth sailing. There may be the odd quirk here or there, but in a perfect world, there are no significant issues to deal with.
For a homeowner in Egbert, Ontario, water seepage had become a major issue in their home. They’d been dealing with three walls leaking in their basement for the twelve years they lived in the house, and enough was enough. They called a different company to their home before us, but after System Design Specialist Robert Langton’s presentation, they hired us on the spot.
The first solution Foreman Lucio Flores installed was a full perimeter of our WaterGuard® Drain System. The customer decided to pair this with a TripleSafe® Sump Pump & an UltraSump® Battery Backup. Lastly, Lucio encapsulated the space with CleanSpace® Vapour Barrier and installed an IceGuard® Discharge Line. This combination of products catches water efficiently from the walls and joints and drains it to the sump pump where it is pumped out of the home.
The customer is ecstatic that their basement is finally dry. After 12 years, they can enjoy their basement the way they’ve always intended too.
There was a leaky basement in South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario. The home had groundwater seepage in several areas of the basement. There would be 2 inches of water in the area and wanted a clean, dry, healthy space.
The customer called Clarke Basement Systems and spoke to Robert Langton who explained everything our team would do to waterproof the home. Jose Martinez and the team came in and installed DryTrak® Drain System, SuperSump® Premier Sump Pump System and CleanSpace® Vapour Barrier. The DryTrak is because the house has a monolithic foundation. The CleanSpace is to collect any water and moisture and direct it to the newly installed SuperSump. Now the basement is dry and healthy, and the customer is happy!
Summertime and cottages go hand in hand. If we’re not going to our family cottage, we’re likely bugging a friend to go to theirs.
A customer in Minden Hills, Ontario, has a beautiful cottage that sits right on the lake. He noticed water was seeping into his basement, and he was growing concerned about the possibility of mould growth.
System Design Specialist Robert Langton travelled to the cottage to investigate the building. He discovered water was seeping in from the roadside wall, so he designed a waterproofing system with that in mind.
Foreman Dave Jackson and his team worked hard installing the system. A full perimeter of WaterGuard® was installed to catch any water and drain it to the brand new SuperSump®. Insulation was placed on the walls for extra warmth in the winter, and an Aprilaire® Dehumidifier was used to control the high humidity levels.
The customer is thrilled with the new sump pump system. His family and he can go to and from the cottage each week without the worry of water entering their basement and creating mould.
This cottage had deteriorating floor joist and structure due to high humidity. Look at how we fixed this problem.
This crawlspace was dealing with high humidity, mould and a rot problem. We fixed up the crawlspace and installed a complete encapsulation system to prevent future problems.
As we grow older, we take on more of a caretaker role with our ageing parents. Whether it’s cutting the grass or helping to make dinner, we’re there for them like they were there for us. Some need more help than others, but it’s the least we can do after a lifetime of support.
For a customer in Thornbury, Ontario, taking care of her elderly parents meant reaching out to Clarke Basement Systems. Her parent’s home had cracks throughout the foundation wall, and some spots were bowing close to three inches.
System Design Specialist Robert Langton met with the customer and inspected her parent’s home. They were having work done on the exterior foundation, but couldn’t backfill until we supported the foundation from the inside.
Foreman Jose Martinez worked hard to fix the bowing walls. He used CarbonArmor® Vertical Wall Straps, which are ten times stronger than steel. The straps are flexible and adhesive, conforming and sticking to the foundation wall securely. They’re then bracketed to the floor and permanently stabilize and straighten the foundation walls.
The customer is thrilled that her parent’s home is safe. They can continue to live in their home for many years, and do so with a proven, warrantied foundation solution.
When you picture a wall, specifically a foundation wall, you get a petty clear picture in your mind. We imagine foundation walls as perfectly straight, and typically made of concrete blocks or poured concrete, but this isn’t always the case. Nature loves to toy with foundations, and expansion and contraction can often lead to cracking and bowing.
A homeowner in Gooderham, Ontario, learned just how much foundation walls could bow. Her home is close to 60 years old and built on a block foundation, but in recent years she has noticed her basement wall bowing more and more.
The customer already had exterior work done on the upper portion of the wall and wanted to have the interior part fixed at the same time. Unsure who to turn to, she reached out to Clarke Basement Systems.
System Design Specialist Robert Langton met with the worried homeowner and explained her options. She was happy to hear we had a solution for her basement, and a date was set to complete the repair.
Foreman Dave Jackson used our CarbonArmor® Wall Repair System to straighten the bowing walls. CarbonArmor® is ten times stronger than steel and is flexible, contouring perfectly to the foundation wall. ArmorLocks® then attach the CarbonArmor® strips to the floor joist, permanently straightening the wall.
The customer is smiling ear to ear now that her basement walls are straight. She knows her home and is stable and safe, and she can continue to do exterior work without any worries.
