Unreliable Sump Flooded This Basement Regularly! Alton, ON
A customer in Alton, ON, had a water issue in their basement. They had a foundation crack on the back wall of the basement and an untrustworthy sump system with no battery backup. This was a problem because the crack was leaking water into the customer’s basement and the sump could not keep up with the amount of water it was receiving. When the power went out, the customer’s water levels rose above the floor level! This situation affected the customer’s quality of life, peace of mind, the value of the home and mold was even beginning to grow! The customer called Clarke Basement Systems and booked an appointment with our Waterproofing Specialist, Ben Wallis. Ben isolated the issue and developed a solution to keep the basement permanently waterproofed. Installation technician Mark Dougherty installed one FlexiSpan™ wall crack repair inside of the basement, which is permanent. Additionally, the sump system was replaced with one Zoeller™ Sump Pump and an UltraSump™ battery backup. The wall crack repair system seals the crack and provides a secondary drainage strategy – groundwater can never get to the floor again for the lifetime of the home. The Zoeller primary sump pump removes water from the sump liner and when the power is out the UltraSump™ battery backup system takes over and removes the water from the sump liner.  The customer was satisfied because the FlexiSpan™ wall crack repair system stopped the leak. It also carries a lifetime, nationally-backed warranty that is fully-transferable with the title of the home. Additionally, the sump equipment installed gave the homeowner peace of mind that the new equipment could keep up with the amount of water flowing into the sump system and the battery backup would take care of business when the power goes out.

Bowing Wall Due to Wall Crack, Bolton, ON
A home in Bolton, Ontario had a problem with the rear basement wall. The wall had a large horizontal crack and it was beginning to bow inwards also causing water to leak in. The client was concerned about the structural integrity of the wall and did not want the problem to get worse. The continued bowing of the wall could lead to it collapsing into the basement. The secondary concern was the effect it could have on the resale value should the home be sold. Th customer called Clarke Basement Systems and spoke to Ron Monk, our sales rep. Perimeter Of Basement Waterproofed , Caledon Ontario
A stunning home in Caledon, Ontario, had a basement that was not waterproofed. The homeowners had noticed that the basement was getting a surplus of water leaking from the walls and wanted to deter the water into the home's Sump Pump. After a call to Clarke Basement Systems, we were able to send out our System Design Specialist over to take a look at the work at hand. Ben Wallis, our specialist, arrived at the home to provide the homeowners with a detailed quote and honest opinion on what products will be used and how they will affect the waterproofing of the basement. Ben suggested our CleanSpace wall membrane be placed around the home's entire basement for any water coming into the house would trickle down the wall and to the floor. Moving toward the floor, we would have our Installation specialist, Dave Jackson, jackhammer a trench around the perimeter of the basement to house our drainage system. The drainage system will hold all the water from their membrane and make its way through the system and into the sump. Treat this like a little water road around the edges and leads into the bigger deposit. Following the drainage system to the end, a new Triple Safe® Sump Pump will be installed to circulate the water properly. The job consisted of one day being the jackhammering and placement of all the materials and the second was the final touches and pouring of the concrete on the drainage system to conceal it.
